Despite this, Namibia, under the command of the calm and seasoned David Wiese, successfully controlled the Super Over to achieve a victory that was of critical importance. During this match, a men’s Twenty20 World Cup game went to a Super Over for the first time since 2012, making it just the third occasion that this has happened. In their match against the seasoned Bilal Khan, Wies,e and Gerhard Erasmus came up with an astounding 21 runs. Following that, Wiese made certain that Oman would not be able to stage another comeback by restricting them to a total of ten runs.
After delivering a full delivery between the covers and then blasting a full toss for a six wide of long-on, Wiese fantastically started the Super Over on a demanding field where it was difficult to get runs. To get the greatest score in a Twenty20 World Cup Super Over, Erasmus maintained his assault by flick-sweeping for a boundary and then squeezing a yorker beyond a short third. After that, Wiese seized command of the situation with the ball, allowing just two runs to be scored off of his first two deliveries until he finally got rid of Naseem Khushi by sending an edge into the stumps.
