The announcement that he will be a part of Bangladesh’s team for the 2024 ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup came in May of that year. During the 2022 BPL season, Hridoy was a member of the Fortune Barishal team. During the next season, he was a member of the Sylhet Strikers, where he was able to score a regular amount of runs and accumulate a total of 403 runs, including five half-centuries. While playing for Jaffna Kings in the Lanka Premier League in 2023, Hridoy made his debut with the team, scoring 54 runs off of only 39 balls in his first game.
While Hridoy was playing for the Comilla Victorians in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in February 2024, he scored his first century in Twenty20 cricket against Durdanto Dhaka. His squad was able to achieve a goal of 176 thanks to his score of 108*(57). Towhid Hridoy, a player for Bangladesh, was penalized fifteen percent of his match money for violating Level 1 of the International Cricket Council’s Code of Conduct during the third Twenty20 International match that took place on Saturday in Sylhet versus Sri Lanka.
A violation of Article 2.20 of the International Cricket Council’s Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel was discovered to have been committed by Towhid. This article pertains to the exhibition of behavior that is in opposition to the spirit of the game. The fact that this was Towhid’s first offense in twenty-four months has resulted in the addition of one demerit point to his disciplinary record. The event took place in the fourth over of Bangladesh’s innings, after the team had been ejected from the opposition.
As Towhid was making his way back to the pavilion, he abruptly turned around and reprimanded the Sri Lankan players in a manner that was both violent and unprofessional. If the Comilla Victorians had continued to play with the same lineup as the team that won the championship in 2023, it is not that they would have been lacking in any particular qualities. Not only did Bangladesh’s most improved cricketer have to live up to his previous season with Sylhet Strikers, but he also had to make sure that none of that talent went off while he was playing for the most successful side in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). This was the case when they signed Towhid Hridoy in the middle of 2023.

During this season, Hridoy has not let anybody down, except the bowlers who are now competing against him. His most recent seven innings have resulted in 305 runs, including his first century in the Twenty20 competition, which he achieved against Durdanto Dhaka. He was able to surpass his 407-run total from 2023 because of his outstanding 64 when playing against Rangpur Riders in the first qualifier. With 447 runs, he is now the player who has scored the most runs so far this season, surpassing Tamim Iqbal by a small margin.
The innings that Hridoy played against Rangpur was so appealing that it even pleased Litton Das, who is considered to be Bangladesh’s most graceful batsman. According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), Hridoy was “found to have breached Article 2.20 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.” This article addresses the issue of demonstrating behavior that is in opposition to the intended purpose of the game. During the competition, the 23-year-old player left for a duck, and so, his penalty was a consequence of the events that transpired after he departed from the competition.
