Tanzid Hasan Tamim is a Bangladeshi cricketer who was born on December 1st, 2000 in the Bangladeshi city of Bogura. It was on February 26, 2019, that he made his debut in the Twenty20 format for Uttara Sporting Club, which was playing in the 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League. On March 8, 2019, he made his debut in the List A competition while playing for Uttara Sporting Club in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League for the 2018–19 season.
The announcement that he will be a part of Bangladesh’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup team came in December 2019. On February 22, 2020, he made his debut in the first-class cricket competition, playing for East Zone in the championship match of the 2019–20 Bangladesh Cricket League. His selection for the Bangladesh Emerging team for their home series against the Ireland Wolves took place in February of 2021. The Bangladeshi team that competed in the 50-over Cricket World Cup in 2023 had him as a member of the roster.
The announcement that he will be a part of Bangladesh’s team for the 2024 ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup came in May of that year. In preparation for the five-match series against Zimbabwe, Bangladesh has decided to call up Mohammad Saifuddin for the first three Twenty20 Internationals. Tanvir Islam, who specializes in left-arm spin, Afif Hossain, who is an all-rounder, and Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain, who are opening hitters, are among the members of the team. The last time Saifuddin competed for Bangladesh in Twenty20 Internationals was in October 2022, only a few months before the Twenty20 World Cup came to Australia.
Following his comeback during the BPL, when he grabbed 15 wickets in nine matches during Fortune Barishal’s first-ever run at the BPL championship, he had a back ailment that kept him out of action until January of this year. In the meanwhile, Tanzid, who bats left-handed, has received his first call-up for a Twenty20 International. Since making his debut the previous year, he has participated in fifteen one-day internationals. Although he had a respectable performance in the BPL, he did not participate in the Twenty20 Internationals that were played against Sri Lanka a month ago.

Unfortunately, Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan will not be participating in the first three matches of the season. On April 30, Shakib will make his way back to Dhaka. After that, he will most likely participate in a match in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) before joining the team for the three matches that are yet to come. Mustafizur is scheduled to arrive on May 2 after his time in the Indian Premier League. Before being considered for the last two Twenty20 Internationals against Zimbabwe in Dhaka, he will be subjected to a fitness evaluation.
After Tanzid Hasan Tamim, a replacement, smashed 84 off 81 balls on Monday, Rishad Hossain played an aggressive innings of 48, which led Bangladesh to a four-wicket victory against Sri Lanka and a 2-1 triumph in the one-day international series. Bangladesh stormed to 237-6 in 40.2 overs after setting a reasonable goal after Janith Liyanage’s unbeaten 101 led Sri Lanka to 235 all out in 50 overs. Bangladesh’s aim should be considered modest. With 48 runs off of only 18 balls, Rishad continued to stay undefeated.
Even though Bangladesh was still 58 runs away from victory, the hosts were in a precarious position when Wanindu Hasaranga forced Mehdiy Hasan Miraz, the last recognized batsman, to surrender a catch to Pramod Madushan for 25. Mushfiqur Rahim, who was 37 not out at the time, ended the game with a boundary off Maheesh Theekshana. During his whirlwind innings, he struck four sixes and five fours.
Even though Lahiru Kumara was playing havoc with four-for-forty-eight runs, Tanzid led the opening assault before replacing Soumya Sarkar in the second innings as a concussion substitute.
On Friday, Bangladesh trounced Zimbabwe by eight wickets, and an opening batsman named Tanzid Hasan scored a half-century in his first Twenty20 match. Tanzid, who was dropped three times before hitting an unbeaten 67 off 47 balls, was the reason why Bangladesh achieved 126-2 in 15.2 overs. Zimbabwe was all out for 124, and Bangladesh attained that score because of Tanzid. After Tanzid had reached fifty off thirty-six balls by smashing Sikandar Raza to long-off for a single, wicketkeeper Joylord Gumbie missed another opportunity when Tanzid top-edged fast bowler Richard Ngarava on the fifty-sixth delivery.

Litton Das and Soumya Sarkar are being evaluated as potential first-choice openers for Bangladesh, which is eager to see a third opener between Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain. The availability of Sarkar is contingent on his physical condition since he is still recuperating from the injury that he got during the last one-day international match of the series, which took place at home against Sri Lanka in February. The first game was played with Tanzid, who was allowed to play ahead of Parvez.
In the first game of the series, which took place on Friday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, in the absence of the injured Soumya, the hosts took advantage of the situation by striking an undefeated half-century, which contributed to their victory against Zimbabwe by eight wickets. During the rain break, the left-handed opener came up with an aggressive strategy and decided to play his shots to demonstrate his ability to play in the shorter format. In addition, he wanted to remind the selection panel of his ability to play in the shorter format.
