Thangarasu Natarajan is a cricketer who represents India at the international level. He was born on April 4, 1991. It was in December 2020 that he made his first appearance for the India cricket team.[4]: At the moment, he is a member of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team, which competes in the Indian Premier League (IPL), as well as the Tamil Nadu team, which competes in domestic cricket. While he was participating in India’s tour of Australia in the 2020–21 season, he made history by being the first Indian cricketer to make his debut in all three forms of the game during the same trip.
While playing for Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy for the 2014–15 season, Natarajan made his first-class debut on January 5, 2015. At the Inter-State Twenty-20 Tournament that took place in 2016–17, on January 29, 2017, he made his debut for Tamil Nadu in the Twenty20 championship. During the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, which took place on September 20, 2018, he made his debut for Tamil Nadu in the List A competition.
In February 2017, the Kings XI Punjab squad made the purchase of Natarajan for the 2017 Indian Premier League. The transaction was valued at ₹3 crore, which is equal to ₹4.2 crore or an amount of US$530,000 in the year 2023. His purchase by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2018 Indian Premier League auction took place in January of that year. On the 26th of October in the year 2020, Natarajan learned that he would be joining the India cricket team on their trip to Australia as one of four extra bowlers.
His inclusion in India’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad came on November 9, 2020, and he took the place of Varun Chakravarthy, who was unable to play due to an injury. As a replacement for Navdeep Saini, who was experiencing back spasms, he was included in India’s team in advance of the first One-Day International (ODI) match. This was done to protect both players. On December 2, 2020, Natarajan made his International One-Day International debut for India against Australia.

On December 4, 2020, Natarajan made his debut for India in the Twenty20 International (T20I) against Australia. He took three wickets and thirty runs. This was a high-scoring contest, as Natarajan collected 2/20 in his four overs during the second Twenty20 International. The yorkers, cutters, and speed changes that Natarajan executed in the death overs garnered a lot of plaudits. In the third Twenty20 International, which India won by a score of 2–1, he got statistics of 1/33.
The addition of Natarajan to India’s Test team took place on December 30, 2020, just before to the third match against Australia. On the 15th of January 2021, he made his debut in the Test match against Australia, and he took his maiden wicket in an international test match by dismissing Matthew Wade.
Natarajan was a member of the limited-overs teams that England sent to India during their tour of India in March of 2021. It was in the fifth Twenty20 International that he made his debut. The match was a high-scoring affair, and India won it by a score of 3–2. He took a wicket of 1/39.
Virat Kohli, the captain of the team, referred to Natarajan’s replacement of spinner Kuldeep Yadav as a “tactical move” when he made his appearance in the third one-day international match against England in Pune. This match was another final that determined the series. Even though England needed 14 runs off of the last over, Natarajan only yielded 6 runs, which contributed to India’s victory in the series. While competing in the 2021 Indian Premier League, Natarajan participated in two matches before suffering a knee injury that prevented him from participating in the first leg of the competition.
Before the second leg of the competition, he was able to get back into shape, but on the day before Sunrisers Hyderabad’s first match, he was unable to play because of COVID-19. Four crores was the amount that Sunrisers Hyderabad paid to acquire him at the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League season, which took place in February of that year. At the end of the season, he ended with 18 wickets from 11 matches, making him the second-greatest wicket-taker for his side.

On Thursday, T Natarajan took two wickets, which helped him move up to sixth position in the battle for the Purple Cap in the Indian Premier League 2024. However, he was unable to prevent Sunrisers Hyderabad from losing. With 13 wickets in eight matches, Jasprit Bumrah, a pacer for the Mumbai Indians, is presently in the lead for the Purple Cap race. Yuzvendra Chahal, a spinner for the Rajasthan Royals, is in second place with 13 wickets from the same number of matches. Kuldeep Yadav (12) and Natarajan come in fourth and fifth place, respectively, behind PBKS star Harshal Patel (13) who is now in third place.
Natarajan seemed to have a delicate touch as he pinned his yorkers into the foot of the hitters for the Washington Nationals during a contest in which over 450 runs were scored throughout two innings. It was the yorker that brought Natarajan fame in the Indian Premier League, but the pacer had lost his shine as a result of several injuries. Immediately after the match, Badani turned to Twitter to express his admiration for the pacer’s character and to assert that he remained unnoticed because he never discussed himself.
The left-arm bowler T Natarajan has not participated in a first-class cricket match in quite some time. It would not be an exaggeration to claim that it has been for a very long time. Natarajan, who made a reputation for himself by constantly sending down unplayable toe-crushing yorkers, was absent from the red-ball scene for over three years due to knee issues. He had carved out a name for himself by repeatedly putting down yorkers.
