Taking a cue from his older colleague Cheteshwar Pujara, the middle-order batsman for Saurashtra, Sheldon Jackson scored a century on the second day of the match, which led to the defending champions reaching a total that was more than 300 on Saturday. Sheldon Jackson, a cricketer for Saurashtra who bats in the middle order, achieved the same achievement as his older colleague Cheteshwar Pujara by scoring a century on day two. In their match against Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy Group A on Saturday, his tenacious innings led the reigning champions to a dominant total that was more than 300 runs.
The hosts, on the other hand, found themselves in a dangerous situation by the time the day was out, failing to reach 159 for 6 in their response. Saurashtra was the team that won the morning session. Jackson, who is 37 years old, reached his 21st first-class century after restarting at his score of 78 from the previous night. Before he was bowled out by left-arm spinner Kukna Ajay Singh, he had completed his century off of 249 deliveries, which included eight boundaries and four maximums.
In addition, Jadeja’s contribution of 34 was very helpful in bolstering Saurashtra’s innings, which allowed them to surpass the 300-run barrier and put further pressure on Rajasthan. Jackson was out in the middle when Saurashtra was 74/3, and he began to consolidate alongside Cheteshwar Pujara. Jackson was currently out in the middle. The two seasoned hitters were able to complement each other masterfully and went on to smash hundreds simultaneously. Jackson and Pujara together scored 168 runs, which was a partnership. Even after Pujara was dismissed, Jackson continued to battle despite the falling wickets till he and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja had a partnership of 56 runs.
Even though he has amassed a significant number of runs for Saurashtra throughout his career in domestic cricket, the 36-year-old player has not yet been called up to play for India. Even though it is normal for any player to have feelings of discouragement, Jackson continues to maintain the belief that everything is possible and wants to continue to push himself in the same way as Karthik and Dhoni have.
When Dinesh Karthik was a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Sheldon Jackson was a member of the team. During that time, Jackson had seen the seasoned Indian wicketkeeper work on making a return from very close quarters.

In the middle of the controversy that has surrounded the selection of teams and the decision to not include Sarfaraz Khan in the Series against the West Indies, another motivational tale has emerged from the world of cricket. We would like to introduce you to Sheldon Jackson, a domestic veteran who is 37 years old and refuses to give up on his aspirations. Jackson continues to demonstrate unrelenting dedication, finding inspiration from the likes of MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik. Even as he waits for his turn to play at the top level, Jackson exhibits this tenacity.
When it comes to domestic cricket, Jackson, who represents Saurashtra, has been a bright figure for his side. Throughout his first-class cricket career, which began in 2011, he has scored more than 6,600 runs, demonstrating his exceptional ability with the bat. This includes the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, both of which are limited-overs competitions. His services extend to these competitions as well. Dinesh Karthik and MS Dhoni are two of the most accomplished cricket players in the world, and they serve as a source of motivation for Jackson to keep going.
The incredible metamorphosis that Karthik underwent was something that Jackson experienced directly since he was a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team with Karthik. During this point of his career, he views Karthik as a genuine example to follow and a source of inspiration to keep pushing the limits of what is possible. It is impossible to have any questions about Jackson’s talents since he has played in about one hundred first-class matches and has averaged close to fifty. With complete conviction, he thinks that he would not have accomplished such extraordinary numbers if he had not been good enough.
