It was also under his leadership that the squad won their very first test match, which was against England in 2016. During one-day internationals, Shakib has had better success. Because he has amassed more than 270 wickets and scored more than 6,000 runs in the format, he has become the first player in the history of the game to accomplish the feat of scoring 5,000 runs and taking 250 wickets in one-day internationals. Throughout the Asia Cup in 2012, Shakib not only picked up six wickets but also scored 237 runs, including three fifties.

Before the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, Sachin Tendulkar held the record for most runs scored in the group rounds of the event. He broke that mark. He also scored 606 runs, which was the third most in the event and put him in third place. People in the game think he is one of the most important players.
