Having been born on December 6th, 2003, Sameer Rizvi is a cricketer from India who now represents Uttar Pradesh in the domestic cricket competition. Additionally, he has represented India at the Under-19 level playing cricket at the age-group level. Because his playing technique is similar to that of Suresh Raina, several social media platforms have given him the moniker “the right-handed Suresh Raina.”
Rizvi started playing cricket when he was eleven years old. He started practicing the sport at Gandhibagh Academy in Meerut, where he was tutored by his maternal uncle Tankeeb Akhtar. Sameer was motivated to practice cricket seriously by Tankeeb Akhtar. As a result of Akhtar’s actions, Sameer’s father became angry with him since he prevented Sameer from concentrating on his academics.
Rizvi caught the notice of Suresh Raina, the captain of Uttar Pradesh, during a Ranji Trophy encounter between Saurashtra and Uttar Pradesh in 2011. Raina was surprised by Rizvi’s fielding efforts, which he attributed to the fact that he was only eight years old at the time. After some time, Raina saw Rizvi’s potential and presented him with a pair of sunglasses as a gift.

Rizvi used to bat first till he reached the Under-16 level, but one of his coaches pushed him to play in the middle order after seeing his natural style of batting against spin bowling. This was after Rizvi had been batting against spin bowling. He built up his reputation as a big-hitting player throughout his career. According to reports, he did not begin his formal schooling until a somewhat late stage in his career and did not finish his tenth-grade examinations until after he was twenty years old.
Upon receiving the news that his father had suffered a brain hemorrhage in the year 2020, he took up the role of being the primary provider for his family. During the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy, Rizvi made his debut in the first-class format on January 27, 2020, when he was just 16 years old and playing for Uttar Pradesh. Twenty years old, he began to garner notice in the UP Twenty20 League. His first appearance in List A was on December 11, 2021, when he played for Uttar Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy during the 2021–22 season.
In the 2023 UP Twenty20 League, he racked up 455 runs in nine innings during the competition, including two centuries (which also included the fastest century of the tournament coming in only 47 deliveries), while playing for the Kanpur Superstars. In addition, he raised the bar because he was the most prolific six-hitter for his team during the competition. This caused him to garner a lot of attention in social circles.
As a result of his impressive batting performance in the UP Twenty20 League, many teams from the Indian Premier League, such as the Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Rajasthan Royals, approached him with an invitation to participate in recruitment trials. However, because of his obligations with the Uttar Pradesh Under-23 team, he was unable to participate in the tryouts.
His purchase by the Chennai Super Kings in the auction for the 2024 Indian Premier League competition set a new record price of 8.40 crore. This transaction took place in December of 2023. A local lawmaker from Uttar Pradesh was among the people who showed up at his home the next day, along with members of the media and his neighbors. During the 2024 Indian Premier League auction, he secured the title of highest-paid and most expensive uncapped player.

Sameer Rizvi, a batter for the Chennai Super Kings, has said that he aspires to achieve the same level of success in cricket as MS Dhoni. CSK batter also said that he is now working on ideas that were provided by the former captain of CSK during their time together. In the first game of his Indian Premier League debut, Sameer Rizvi hit a six against Rashid Khan, the great spinner for Gujarat Titans. In the first game he played in the Indian Premier League, he scored 14 runs and had a strike rate of 200.
Because of his outstanding performance in domestic cricket, CSK was able to acquire the batter for an astounding amount of Rs. 8.4 crore. He was one of the players who scored the most runs in the UP Twenty20 League, which took place in August and September of the previous year. It was against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) that Rizvi made his debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL), however, he did not have the opportunity to bat in that match.
Sameer Rizvi, the newest member of the Chennai Super Kings team, managed to put on a show while batting for the first time in the Indian Premier League (IPL) against Gujarat Titans. His performance was so impressive that it even brought a grin to the face of their previous captain, MS Dhoni. It was impossible to imagine a situation in which the odds were more stacked against the youth. Rashid Khan, who is widely considered to be among the best bowlers in the shortest format, was the opponent he faced as he stepped out to bat in the final overs of the match.
Despite this, he was able to pass the test with flying colors since he was able to knock two maximums off of the three deliveries that came from the leg-spinner throughout the over. As the cameras swung towards the renowned finisher, the home audience let out a huge cheer. The sudden rush of runs even put a grin on Dhoni, who was being padded up and getting ready to bat at the time. As a matter of coincidence, GT was the one who was embroiled in a bidding battle with five-time championship winners for the services of the power-hitter from Meerut. Rizvi, who had not yet reached his maximum, was able to get an astounding 8.4 crores during the auction that had only recently ended.
