The English cricketer Samuel Matthew Curran MBE was born on June 3, 1998. He is a member of the England national team and competes in all game forms. Within the realm of domestic cricket, he is a member of the Surrey team and has participated in several Twenty20 competitions. After Tony Lock, who made his debut precisely 69 years earlier at the age of 17 years and 8 days, also against Kent at The Oval, he became Surrey’s second youngest first-class cricketer in history at the age of 17 years and 40 days. He was the second youngest player in the history of the sport. In the first innings, he delivered figures of 5/101, and it is thought that he is the youngest player in the history of the County Championship to ever take five wickets in a match.

During the 2022 Twenty20 Blast, which took place in June 2022, Curran achieved his maiden five-wicket haul in Twenty20 cricket. He got five wickets and thirty runs against the Hampshire Hawks. Later on in the same month, Curran earned his first century in first-class cricket, which was 126 runs, during a match against Kent that was part of the County Championship. Only 62 balls were required for him to attain his hundred.
Throughout the test series against India, Curran was able to maintain his position in the England side. He captured four wickets in the first innings of the first test match at Edgbaston, including the wickets of India’s top three batters, and he scored 63 runs in the second innings of England’s match, earning him the title of Player of the Match. After being left out of the England squad for the third test, he came back to the team at the Rose Bowl to replace Chris Woakes, who was injured.
