Currently serving as the captain of the Nepal national cricket team, Rohit Kumar Paudel is a Nepalese cricketer who was born on September 2, 2002. During the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two event, which took place on February 8, 2018, he made his debut for Nepal in the List A competition. Following Nepal’s participation in the ICC Twenty20 World Cup in Bangladesh, he decided to pursue a cricket career. As of January 2019, Kumar holds the record for being the youngest male cricketer to ever strike a half-century for an international team.
Additionally, in February 2020, his colleague Kushal Malla was the one who shattered the record. The first Nepalese player to achieve 1,000 runs in one-day international cricket, he holds the record for the most runs scored by Nepal in the history of the one-day international format. Since November 2022, he has held the position of captain of the Nepal cricket team. He was selected to be a member of Nepal’s team for the One-Day International (ODI) series that they were going to play against the Netherlands in July of 2018. After attaining one-day international status during the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, Nepal played its first one-day international matches that year.
While playing for Nepal in the 2018 MCC Tri-Nation Series against the Marylebone Cricket Club on July 29, 2018, he made his debut in the Twenty20 format while representing Nepal. On August 3, 2018, Rohit Paudel made his debut for Nepal in a one-day international cricket competition by participating in a match against the Netherlands. Incredibly, he made his debut in a one-day international at the juvenile age of 15 years and 335 days, making him the fourth-youngest player to ever make his debut in an ODI. The fact that he was able to score six runs off of just fifteen balls during his first One-Day International outing demonstrated his early promise with a boundary.
Paudel was caught out while batting at the number six position in the batting order throughout the match. The announcement that he will be a part of Nepal’s team for the Asia Cup Qualifier event took place in August of 2018. Rohit Paudel was responsible for nine runs that Nepal scored during their innings during the match that took place on August 30, 2018, against the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It was his second One-Day International match. During the time that he was at the crease, he got 14 deliveries and scored at a strike rate of 64.28 percent.

Despite this, he was kicked out of the game after hitting two boundaries and being caught by the opposition. He scored 161 runs in three matches at the 2018 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup, making him the best run-scorer for Nepal in the tournament that took place in October 2018. On January 26, 2019, Paudel became the youngest male cricketer to register a half-century in an international match. He was 16 years and 146 days old at the time, and he was playing in his third one-day international match. In the second one-day international match, which took place at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai, he finished with 55 runs after facing 58 balls.
It was announced in January 2019 that he would be a part of Nepal’s Twenty20 International (T20I) team for the series that would be played against the United Arab Emirates. On January 31, 2019, he made his debut for Nepal in a Twenty20 International match against the United Arab Emirates. Rohit batted in the sixth position during this match and scored four runs off of eight balls sent to him. During his innings, he was able to hit one four and had a strike percentage of fifty percent. Paudel was ultimately fired once he was discovered to be in the wrong.
The announcement that he will be leading Nepal’s team in the Asia qualifying competition for the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2020 came in April of this year. Paudel scored 95 runs off of 105 balls in the first match of the tournament, which Nepal played against Singapore. The announcement that he will be a part of Nepal’s team for the Regional Finals of the 2018–19 ICC Twenty20 World Cup Asia Qualifier competition came in June 2019.
In the competition, he participated in five Twenty20 Internationals and scored 5,19, a DNB, 6*, and 5 runs at an average of 8.75.The 2019–20 Oman Pentangular Series, which took place between October 5 and 10, 2019, had Rohit as a participant. Out of the four Twenty20 International matches, he participated in two of them, scoring five runs apiece against Hong Kong and the Netherlands. His inclusion in Nepal’s team for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, which will take place in Bangladesh, was announced in November of 2019.

At the end of the same month, he was also selected to be a member of Nepal’s team that will compete in the men’s cricket competition at the 2019 South Asian Games, which will be held by Nepal.During the tournament, Nepal competed in three Twenty20 International matches, one of which was against Bhutan and two of which were against Maldives. Other matches competed against the U-23 teams of full country teams and were of the list-A kind.
In three Twenty20 Internationals, Rohit scored six, ten, and fifteen runs, respectively. It was in September 2020 that the Cricket Association of Nepal presented him with a central contract, making him one of eighteen players to get such an honor. In the first one-day international play of a two-match series against Papua New Guinea, which took place on March 25, 2022, Paudel earned his maiden century in an ODI cricket match with 126 runs.
