Some people believed that Rachin Ravindra’s first name was a portmanteau of the first names of Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar. The New Zealand national team has announced that Rachin Ravindra will be a member of their squad for the 2023 World Cup. For the 2023 World Cup, Rachin was not officially considered to be a candidate for inclusion in the final squad; nonetheless, he was able to get a spot in the 15-man team, taking Michael Bracewell’s place when he suffered an injury. Because Rachin was mostly used by the New Zealand side as a spin bowling all-rounder who could bat deep down the order, he was not a top-choice option for New Zealand heading into the World Cup preparations in full force.
Rachin was allowed to bat at number three in New Zealand’s first match against England. This decision was made as a result of a paradigm change in approaches taken by the administration of the squad, which was prompted by worries over the fitness of Kane Williamson, the captain of the New Zealand side. Except for the few one-day internationals (ODIs) he played for the Black Caps before the World Cup began, he never batted higher than the number six spot in any of his outings for the team.
while getting 123* runs off of only 96 balls in the first match of the World Cup, he became just the fourth New Zealand player to reach a century on his World Cup debut. He did this while batting at no. 3 instead of Williamson. It also happened to be his first century in a One-Day International. The New Zealand player reached 100 in 82 balls, making this the quickest century ever scored by a player from New Zealand in the World Cup. He also made history by being the youngest player from New Zealand to score a century in the World Cup. He was 23 years and 321 days old.
