Nitish Rana is a cricketer from India who currently competes for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was born on December 27th, 1993. In addition to being an efficient off-spin bowler and an aggressive left-handed batsman, he is now serving as the captain of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Team. From the beginning of his career, he was a batsman and a bowler on a part-time basis; nevertheless, he has since turned into an excellent batting all-rounder thanks to his efforts.
His appointment as the captain of Delhi came in November 2018, following Gautam Gambhir, who had previously held the position. Rana once again led the way in scoring with 53 runs off of only 29 balls, which assisted his side in chasing down Baroda’s total of 153. This came after Delhi had lost three of their top four batters during their match against Baroda for single-digit scores. After Delhi were down to 14 for 3 in their pursuit of 135 and faced Jharkhand, he produced an unbeaten 60 off 44 balls, which helped his side win by five wickets. This was after Delhi had been reduced to 14 for 3.
The Kolkata Knight Riders purchased him at the 2018 Indian Premier League auction, which took place in January of that year. The announcement that Rana will be a part of India A’s team for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy came in October of 2018. The announcement that he will be a member of India’s squad for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup came in December of 2018. The announcement that he will be a part of India B’s team for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy came in October of 2019.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) banned Rana as one of 22 players in 2015 for age-fudging. Rana was one of the players suspended. According to reports, Rana was subjected to a second investigation for his alleged participation in age-fudging before the 2020 Indian Premier League. However, the charges were found to be false. Rana was selected to be a member of India’s One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) squads for the series that they were going to play against Sri Lanka starting in June 2021.
On July 23, 2021, he played his first one-day international match for India, which was against Sri Lanka. In his first game, he scored seven runs off of fourteen balls. He played his first Twenty20 International match for India on July 28, 2021, against Sri Lanka. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are going to compete against each other today in what is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated matches in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). KKR has only played one match, and they won it against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). In contrast, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have both won and lost a game. After winning the toss, KKR decided to bowl first, even though their playing XI did not include Nitish Rana, one of their most talented batsmen.
As a replacement for Suyash Sharma, Kolkata has included Anukul Roy, an Indian pacer, in their team that will compete against Bengaluru, their long-standing rivals, in the Indian Premier League 2024 match that will take place at the M Chinnaswamy stadium. During the toss for the match, there was a significant amount of misunderstanding, and the captain of the Kolkata team, Shreyas Iyer, announced that Anukul would be the only change from the side that had won their first game of the Indian Premier League 2024 season versus Hyderabad on March 23.

In the previous year, when it became clear that the first-choice captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Shreyas Iyer, would not be available for the season, Nitish Rana was practically thrust into the position of captain of the team. Iyer is back, but there are still concerns about his physical health, and Rana may be asked to lead KKR once again, at least for a few matches. Even if the left-handed hitter is hoping that this does not occur, he is prepared to take on the role of the big man once again.
After the second day of the match versus Mumbai, which took place on Saturday at the Wankhede stadium, Nitish Rana had a smug expression on his face. Rana, who is now the captain of Uttar Pradesh, dominated the action of the day with his smooth hundred 106 (120 balls, 12×4, 5×6) to give his side a significant 126-run first-innings lead. This occurred on a day when his old club, Delhi, saw yet another top-order collapse in the Ranji tournament.
Rana, who has a reasonable record against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), had a lackluster start to the 2024 season after scoring nine runs in the most recent match against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Eden Gardens. Rana’s performance was not particularly impressive. Specifically, Mayank Markande was the one who fired him. On the other hand, it did not hurt the team’s cause since KKR ended up winning both of the points in an exciting match.
During the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Nitish Rana and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were pleased to announce the addition of Mitchell Starc to their team. In the previous year, Rana was the one who led the Knight Riders in the absence of Shreyas Iyer, who was unable to play due to an injury all through the season. However, he was not successful in leading KKR to the playoffs by any means. When Rana found out that Shreyas had returned to head KKR, she was overjoyed. Additionally, he was delighted to join forces with Gautam Gambhir, who had returned to the brand in the role of a mentor.
