Mark Sinclair Chapman is a New Zealand international cricketer who was born in Hong Kong on June 27, 1994. He has represented both Hong Kong and New Zealand in limited-overs internationals. Chapman’s birthday is June 27. A left-handed batter named Chapman bowls the occasional slow left-arm orthodox. Chapman is now playing for the New Zealand team. On November 16, 2015, he debuted for Hong Kong in a One-Day International match against the United Arab Emirates. The game was part of the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship.

In February 2018, he made his debut for New Zealand in both the Twenty20 International and the One-Day International against England. It was his mother Anne who worked in the financial industry, and his father Peter who served as a crown prosecutor for the Government of Hong Kong. After moving to Auckland when he was 14 years old, he went on to pursue a degree in engineering at the University of Auckland. As a 15-year-old, he participated in the Under-19 World Cup in 2010 as a member of the Hong Kong under-19 squad. When Chapman was just 16 years old, he made his debut for Hong Kong in the World Cricket League in the Division Three event against the United States of America in 2011. Following Hong Kong’s victory against Papua New Guinea in the championship match of the 2011 ICC World Cricket League Division Three competition, he achieved the highest score for Hong Kong with an unbroken knock of 70. This allowed Hong Kong to win the tournament and capture the title.
Additionally, it was effective in assisting Hong Kong in achieving promotion to the World Cricket League Division Two in 2011. This was Chapman’s first appearance in the List A competition, which took place against Uganda in the latter tournament. As part of the campaign, he participated in five further List A matches, the most recent of which was against Papua New Guinea. Throughout his participation in the tournament, he participated in six matches, during which he scored 192 runs at a batting average of 38.40, with two half-centuries and a best score of 81.

During his match against the United Arab Emirates, he scored his greatest score. During the 2013 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, which took place on November 15, 2013, he made his debut in the Twenty20 format against Italy. It was on December 17, 2015, during the 2015–16 Plunket Shield when Chapman made his debut in the first-class competition. Because he has dual citizenship in both New Zealand and Hong Kong, he is not recognized to be a player from either country. When Chapman was batting for Auckland against Canterbury in the 2017–18 Super Smash, he played his maiden Twenty20 match and achieved his first century. This occurred on January 1, 2018.
Chapman scored 480 runs for Auckland in eight matches during the 2017–18 Ford Trophy season, making him the best run-scorer in the competition. He received a contract with Auckland for the 2018–19 season in June of 2018, and it was granted to him. This occurred during the Plunket Shield match between Auckland and Otago, which took place during the 2020–21 season.
Additionally, he was selected to be a member of the Hong Kong side that competed in the 2014 ICC World Twenty20, which was Hong Kong’s very first participation in a major ICC competition. Despite his efforts, Hong Kong only managed to win the bronze medal match against Bangladesh by a score of 27 runs. He scored 38 runs off of 31 balls, which was the highest score for Hong Kong in the competition. In November 2015, Chapman was considered for the position of vice-captain on Hong Kong’s team for its two World Cricket League matches against the United Arab Emirates. Both of these matches were one-day internationals. He made his One-Day International debut in the first match, and he became the first player from Hong Kong to hit a century in an ODI. He scored 124 runs without being out from 116 balls.
Also, Chapman became the first player from associate countries to score a century on their first one-day international (ODI) match, and he was the second player to do it with a strike rate of more than 100.00, following in the footsteps of Desmond Haynes. The Hong Kong team that will compete in the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 and the 2016 Asia Cup Qualifier will have him serving as the vice-captain of the team. His contentious mankation by Aamir Kaleem occurred during a match against Oman that was part of the Asia Cup Qualifier in 2016. He was also the first batter in a Twenty20 International to get managed during a match.
