RCB was once again able to get back into the game when the over consisted of just five runs. When the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were playing each other in Match 36 of the Indian Premier League 2024 at Eden Gardens on Sunday, April 21, Phil Salt, the opener for the KKR, provided his side the perfect start they needed by going for Lockie Ferguson, the speedster for the RCB. At the beginning of Kolkata’s innings, the visitors were successful in preventing Sunil Narine from gaining any ground.
On the other hand, Salt made certain that the hosts did not allow the opponent to gain momentum without their knowledge. Against Ferguson, he hit four boundaries and a couple of sixes, and the latter was completely unable to respond to the destruction that he caused. As a result of Mohammed Siraj’s efforts, Phil Salt was out for 48 runs after scoring off of 14 balls. When the England opener attempted to get a delivery into his pads over square leg, he was unable to get enough distance and height to bring the ball into his pads. Finally, Rajat Patidar was able to finish the catch, which provided Bengaluru with some much-needed relief.
