Lizaad Byron Williams is a South African cricketer who now plays for the Northerns. He was born on October 1st, 1993. It was in April of 2021 that he made his debut for South Africa on the international stage. Following his performances for Boland in List A cricket, Williams, who bowls right-arm quick, was offered a rookie contract for the 2012–13 season. This was in response to his impressive performance. The Stellenbosch Monarchs recruited him for their team for the first season of the Twenty20 Global League in August of 2017.
On the other hand, Cricket South Africa first decided to postpone the event till November 2018, however after that, they decided to cancel it shortly after. It was announced in June of 2018 that Williams would be a member of the Cape Cobras team for the 2018–19 championship season. The announcement that he will be a part of Boland’s team for the 2018 Africa Twenty20 Cup came in September of 2018. The Nelson Mandela Bay Giants selected him to be a member of their team for the first Mzansi Super League Twenty20 event, which took place in October (2018).
He was designated as a member of the Jozi Stars side that would compete in the 2019 Mzansi Super League competition. This announcement was made in September of 2019. In the latter part of the same month, he was accepted into Boland’s team for the CSA Provincial Twenty20 Cup for the 2019–20 season. Williams received a spot on South Africa’s limited overs teams for the series they were playing against Pakistan in March of 2021. On April 10, 2021, he made his debut for South Africa in a Twenty20 International (T20I) match against Pakistan to begin his career.
He was included in the Northern team in the same month, in preparation for the 2021–22 cricket season that would take place in South Africa. Williams earned a spot in South Africa’s Test squad in May 2021, as the team was preparing to play the West Indies in a series. Williams was selected to be a member of South Africa’s One Day International (ODI) team for the series that they were going to play against Ireland in May of 2021. On July 16, 2021, he made his maiden appearance in a One-Day International (ODI) match for South Africa against Ireland. He grabbed a wicket with his very first ball.

Williams earned a spot on South Africa’s team for the 2021 ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup in September 2021, where he was one of three reserve players. Williams earned a spot in South Africa’s Test squad in March 2022, while they were preparing for their series against Bangladesh. In the first test match of his career, which took place on March 31, 2022, he played for South Africa against Bangladesh. When he played Bangladesh in a test match, he took his maiden wicket. The South African team that was going to compete in the 50-over World Cup in India in 2023 had him on their roster.
In the India Premier League match that took place on Saturday, April 27, DC gave Lizaad Williams his first time playing as they were playing at home against MI. Additionally, they have Mitchell Marsh and Sumit Kumar, both of whom are all-rounders who bowl at a fast tempo. Lungi Ngidi was also a member of the Capitals, but he decided not to participate in the event since he was still working on recovering from the lower back injury he sustained earlier in the year when competing in the SA20.
