Karun Kaladharan Nair is a cricketer who represents India at the international level. He was born on December 6, 1991, and now plays for Vidarbha in the Indian domestic cricket league and Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League. In addition to being a right-handed top-order hitter, he also bowls off break on occasion. In the history of Test cricket, he is just the second Indian batsman to ever be able to hit a triple century.
At the one-day international match against Zimbabwe in 2016, he made his debut for India. 2016, he made his first appearance in a test match against England. When his kid was born, Kaladharan, who is a mechanical engineer, was stationed in Jodhpur. Subsequently, he relocated with his family to Koramangala, Bangalore, where he also worked on the sprinkler system at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Prema, Nair’s mother, is a teacher at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, which is located in Bangalore. The older sister of Karun is a woman named Shruthi Nair.
To cure Karun’s weak lungs, the physicians recommended that his parents get him involved in athletics. Karun was born prematurely, thus the doctors encouraged his parents to do so. A year after his family relocated to Bengaluru, Nair joined the Koramangala Cricket Academy on March 28, 2001. Shivanand was the coach at the time. He began his education at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, where his mother taught him till the fourth grade. After that, he transferred to Frank Anthony Public School to take advantage of more possibilities to play cricket.
At Jain University in Bangalore, he completed his Bachelor of Commerce with an Honors degree. There are several languages that he is proficient in, including English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil. The Malayalam language is his mother tongue. It was during the 2013–14 season when Karnataka won the Ranji Trophy that Nair made his debut at the first-class level of cricket. In the team’s last league game as well as the first two elimination matches, he scored three hundreds in a row.

A spate of poor scores caused him to go through a bad patch during the 2014–15 season, but he came back and smashed 328 runs in the championship game, which helped Karnataka win the title once again. Not only did he become the first batter to hit a triple century in a Ranji final since 1946–47, but he also became the second player from Karnataka to record a triple century. Additionally, it holds the record for the greatest total scored by a batsman in the Ranji Trophy final. During the Ranji Trophy game that took place in 2015–2016, he amassed 500 runs, which included two centuries and two half-centuries.
It was during the next season that he maintained his successful streak, scoring one hundred and three half-centuries from the six matches he played during that season. The announcement that he will be a part of India A’s team for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy came in October of 2018. In the month that followed, he was selected as one of eight players to keep an eye on in front of the Ranji Trophy for the 2018–19 season. The India Red team announced in August 2019 that he will be a part of their squad for the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy.
In Maf 2016, Nair was selected to be a part of the Indian One-Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) teams for their series against Zimbabwe. On June 11, 2016, he made his debut in the One-Day International (ODI) competition at Harare Sports Club. In his first-ever test match, which took place in Mohali on November 26, 2016, he faced England. In the last match of the series, which took place at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, he not only did not get out but also got his first-ever century in a test match.
In terms of the amount of matches played, he became the fastest batsman in the history of Test cricket to achieve a first-ever triple-hundred. At the time, he had only played three innings in international cricket. It was just the third time in the history of the game that a player was able to convert a first-ever test ton into a triple. He was also India’s second-ever triple-centurion, following in the footsteps of Virender Sehwag. The match was won by India by an innings and 75 runs, and Nair was selected as the player of the match thanks to his performance.

During the 2012 and 2013 seasons of the Indian Premier League, Karun was a member of the organization known as Royal Challengers Bangalore. Throughout the 2014 Indian Premier League season, he had a breakout season with Rajasthan Royals, during which he scored 330 runs with a strike rate of 142.24. Karun was signed by the Delhi Daredevils in 2016, after Rajasthan’s suspension from the league for two years following the conclusion of an investigation into illicit betting and allegations of match-fixing.
After Zaheer Khan suffered an injury during the 2017 season, he took over as captain of Delhi for three matches. In the 2018 Indian Premier League auction, Kings XI Punjab was the team that purchased him. Before the 2021 Indian Premier League season began, the Kolkata Knight Riders participated in the Indian Premier League auction in February 2021 and purchased Nair. In February of 2022, he participated in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League season, which ultimately led to his return to Rajasthan Royals.
On June 29, 2019, announced that he was engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Sanaya Tankariwala, who is a media professional. He did so using his various social media profiles. The pair tied the knot in a private ceremony on January 19, 2020, in the city of Udaipur, in the state of Rajasthan. The month of January 2022 saw the birth of their son, Kayaan Nair. Some people have referred to him as one of the most unfortunate players to ever wear the Test cap for India. Only the second Indian player to ever achieve a triple century in a test match.
