Throughout the series, Bairstow was successful in his role as a wicketkeeper, but he was unsuccessful with the bat. In the end, he ended with 49 runs in the series. The selection of Bairstow for the fifth one-day international (ODI) during New Zealand’s tour of England in 2015 came after he had been absent from the England squad for eighteen months. Along with taking two catches, he scored 83 runs off of 60 balls, which contributed to England’s victory in the match.
Following his absence from the first two tests of the Ashes series in 2015, Jonny was able to participate in all three of the remaining tests of the series. His score of 74 in the fourth test match was a significant factor in England’s victory. The series that England played against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates in 2015 had him in the England squad. While batting, he had a mediocre performance, and he only managed to score one half-century throughout the series. 2–0 was the final score for England in the series.
Jos Buttler’s lackluster performance in the Test series against South Africa led to the selection of Bairstow as the first-choice wicket keeper for the match. In the first test, he contributed to his team’s victory by scoring 41 and 79 runs, which resulted in a victory of 241 runs. Bairstow became the first English wicketkeeper to take a stumping since the year 2012 on account of his successful stumping of Temba Bavuma for zero.
