John Wayne Hastings is a former cricketer from Victoria, Australia, who played for the national squad and was born on November 4, 1985. He was useful in every position. He said goodbye to Test and One-Day International cricket in October 2017. He announced his retirement from cricket later that month due to a lung issue. Hastings was signed by the club after the 2006–07 season after having played for the state of New South Wales in both underage and second-XI teams.
On his debut in 2007–08, when bowled at the death against Queensland, he took three wickets in six deliveries, building on his impressive performance in his first one-day games for Victoria. The inclement weather disrupted his first-class debut match with the visiting Indian national side. He needed surgery to place a pin into a broken finger the following January. Despite only getting three more first-class chances in 2008–09, Hastings took 16 wickets for 18.56 runs, including 5 for 61 against his native state.

Together with Calum McLeod, he achieved the greatest sixth-wicket partnership in Twenty20 history in 2014 with 126*. Hastings was named to the One-Day International squad for the 2010 Indian summer tour after a string of injuries to key Australian pacemen.
