The South African cricketer GC Viljoen, also known as Hardus Viljoen, was born on March 6, 1989. He is now playing at the professional level. As a member of the South African national cricket team, Viljoen participated in one test match while playing for the Lions in the domestic cricket competition. A quick bowler with his right arm, he bowls. On the last day of 2015, Viljoen was allowed to serve as a substitute for Kyle Abbott by being called up to the South African team for the first time.
On January 14, 2016, he made his debut in the Test match against England. He became the 20th player in the history of the game to accomplish this milestone by getting the wicket of Alastair Cook, the captain of England, with his very first delivery in the test match. As part of his brief stint in English county cricket, which began in August 2016, Viljoen joined Kent County Cricket Club. During his time with the club, he participated in the last four matches of the 2016 County Championship season.
On August 23, he made his debut in the County Championship against Gloucestershire at Bristol. He took five wickets on the opening day of the match, which was the first day of the league. Kent made a contract offer to Viljoen after the season, but they were unable to match the more lucrative offer that Derbyshire offered. Derbyshire had recruited the player on a three-year Kolpak deal in December of 2016, and Kent was hesitant to match that offer.
The contract was dissolved “by mutual consent” in January 2019, after Viljoen had played for the county for two seasons. Viljoen signed a new deal in June to play for Kent in the 2019 Twenty20 Blast. The Kings XI Punjab made the purchase of his services at the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League, which took place in December 2018. He was chosen to participate in the first-ever Euro Twenty20 Slam cricket competition, which took place in July 2019, and he was assigned to play for the Rotterdam Rhinos club.

However, the event was canceled the month after it was scheduled to take place. He was included in the roster of the Paarl Rocks club that will compete in the 2019 Mzansi Super League competition. This announcement was made in September of 2019. The announcement of his inclusion in Boland’s team came in April 2021, well in advance of the 2021–22 cricket season in South Africa. The Jaffna Kings decided to sign him in July 2022 so that he may participate in the third season of the Lanka Premier League.
In response to the question of whether or not there had been any alterations to his playing eleven, Du Plessis, who had been unsuccessful in winning the coin toss, said that Viljoen would not be participating in this match and then proceeded to provide an excessive amount of detail about his absence. The wedding took place on Saturday between all-rounder Viljoen, who has played for South Africa in one test match, and Rhemi Rynners, who is the sister of du Plessis. This past year, Rynners had accompanied her boyfriend Viljoen, who was playing for Kings XI Punjab, on a trip to India during the 12th season of the Indian Premier League.
Even though he has signed a contract with Kolpak, Kings XI Punjab pacer Hardus Viljoen is unable to play for South Africa. However, he believes that playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is the closest he can go to realizing his ambition of competing in the highly desired World Cup. As a result of the Kolpak pact, individuals from about one hundred countries can play cricket in any EU country without being regarded as players from outside the EU. After wearing the national shirt for the first time in a test match against England, Hardus is currently a cricket player who works by himself.
Initially, Hardus signed a contract with the English county Derbyshire, but he eventually terminated the agreement in January 2019. When asked about his decision to play for the English country, Hardus responded by saying, “Every boy dreams of playing for his country, but this is all about opportunities.” Your dismissal occurred shortly after the completion of the single test. The opportunity to demonstrate your abilities and what you are capable of was not available to you. It was challenging for me to make this choice when I was terminated from my position. All things, however, occur for a certain cause.

When Hardus Viljoen was still in school, he originally began to believe that rugby was his vocation. After that, he used his very first delivery in a test match to take the wicket of Alastair Cook, and he immediately realized that this was his true identity. Viljoen’s major claim to fame in the modern era is cricket, namely Twenty20 and Ten-Over cricket. In the last several years, he has played for several different teams, including the Multan Sultans, the Lahore Qalandars, the Chittagong Vikings, the Derbyshire Warriors, and the Northern Warriors.
Viljoen can muscle the ball further down the order in addition to bowling a heavy ball at speeds that are more than 140 kilometers per hour (ask Moeen Ali, whose bat breaks in half) and a variety of cuts. While playing in Mohali, Viljoen displayed his hit-the-deck activity, which contributed to Kings XI’s victories against Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. From embracing the Kolpak path due to a lack of playing time with South Africa to giving up the Kolpak contract and becoming a T20 freelancer, his career is a representation of the shifts that have taken place in the cricketing scene.
