The Australian cricketer Billy James Stanlake was born on November 4th, 1994. He is a national of Australia. His quick bowling skills earned him a spot on the Australian team that competed in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2014. He also participated in One Day International and Twenty20 International cricket matches for the senior national team. He is a member of the Tasmania cricket team and the Hobart Hurricanes, both of which compete in the Big Bash League. He is a domestic cricket player.
With a height of 204 centimeters, Stanlake holds the record for being the tallest person to ever represent Australia in international cricket. For the first six years of his life, Stanlake resided on the Fraser Coast. He was born in Hervey Bay, which is located in the state of Queensland. With the encouragement of their father, Warren Stanlake, who was a member of the Footscray Football Club, and competed in the professional Victorian Football League, he and his brother participated in Australian rules football with the Hervey Bay Bombers.
Billy started playing cricket for Southport-Labrador and attended The Southport School (TSS) when the family moved to the Gold Coast in 2001. This was the year that the family established their new home. In both of the years when TSS’s First XI cricket team competed in the GPS Premiership, he was a member of the squad and won the Westcott Family Trophy for First XI bowler of the year. He also played for the team in three consecutive years. In October of 2011, Stanlake, who was 16 years old at the time, made his debut with the Gold Coast Dolphins from the first grade.
Following his transition to cricket, Stanlake would go on to have a great deal of success as a young cricket player, competing in both local and international games. During the 2013 under-19 national championships, he bowled for his home state of Queensland and got fourteen wickets in three matches. His bowling numbers included six wickets in thirty percent and five wickets in forty percent. Unfortunately, he had a foot injury before the 2012 World Cup, which prevented him from playing. However, even though he suffered another foot injury before the 2014 World Cup, he was able to recuperate in time to take part in the tournament. During the competition, he had the highest bowling average and economy rate of all the Australian bowlers. He took five wickets at an average of 19.40 and an economy rate of 3.34 runs per over. He was the best bowler in the event.
Stanlake participated in twelve youth One Day Internationals for Australia between the years 2011 and 2014, during his junior stint playing for Australia. In 2011, while he was just sixteen years old, he bowled his finest performance against Sri Lanka. This was indeed his best performance. He struck out the majority of Sri Lanka’s top order with four wickets for 37 runs. At an average of 29.92, he grabbed 13 wickets throughout all of his junior one-day internationals. Stanlake received a rookie contract with the Queensland state cricket team for the 2014–15 season after his exploits in the Under-19 World Cup.
However, he was unable to play for the full season due to stress fractures in his back, which prevented him from contributing to the team’s success. Rather than that, he made his debut in all three main forms of cricket during the 2015–16 season: first-class cricket, one-day cricket, and Twenty20 cricket. Stanlake made his debut in the List A competition on October 5, 2015, against Tasmania.
After being selected for the first time in Queensland’s squad for the 2015–16 Matador BBQs One-Day Cup, Stanlake made his debut in the competition. In addition to his remarkable exploits in the Matador Cup, which included a score of 3/43 against South Australia and a score of 4/37 against Western Australia, Stanlake was selected for a Cricket Australia XI side to compete in a match against New Zealanders who were on a tour.

Because of his history of injuries, Stanlake did not begin the 2015–16 Sheffield Shield season with Queensland’s squad. However, when he achieved figures of 4/26 while playing grade cricket for Gold Coast, he was welcomed into the side. On November 14, 2015, he made his debut in a first-class match against South Australia. He was successful in securing a victory for Queensland by taking four wickets by allowing South Australia to score 63 runs in their second innings.
Stanlake was a member of the Adelaide Strikers, a South Australian franchise, during the midseason break of the 2015–16 Big Bash League season. On the 28th of December 2015, he made his first appearance for the Strikers. He bowled swiftly at a pace of 140 kilometers per hour, although he only allowed 18 runs to be scored in his three overs. He did not take any wickets. Andrew Flintoff, a former English Test cricketer, observed that it was quite probable that he would be able to significantly increase his speed in the years to come.
During the 2016–2017 Big Bash League season, Stanlake was running at a high level of performance. It was most noticeable during the match on New Year’s Eve when he took three wickets for 17 runs in 3.2 overs. His speed was improving and approaching closer and closer to 150 kilometers per hour. In January 2017, the selectors for the Australian national team decided to rest their fast bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc due to an upcoming tour of India. They also believed that Stanlake’s unusual height and fast pace could both be strong assets in international cricket, which is why they chose to include him in the Australia One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against Pakistan.
