According to what the commentator mentioned during the match, his comeback tale is something that would be repeated for many years to come in the history of Nepal cricket. When Nepal played the Netherlands in their very first one-day international match, he was one of the eleven guys who played for the team. The announcement that he will be a part of Nepal’s team for the 2024 ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup came in May of that year. Following his departure from the Nepal Police Club in November 2022, Sah began his career as a cricket player with the Madhesh Province Cricket Association.

When Nepal played Canada in the second one-day international on February 10, Anil Sah broke the record for the quickest half-century by a Nepalese player in one-day international cricket.
The right-handed batsman started the batting for Nepal and smashed the ball to every area of the field, resulting in a half-century off just twenty balls. On his way to this knock, he hit seven fours, three sixes, and a six, and he reached the milestone with a six. Anil Kumar Shah, the opening batsman for Nepal, and Bhim Sarki, the number three batsman for Nepal, both had outstanding performances by hitting hundreds, establishing a new partnership record, and guiding Nepal to a resounding win in the last one-day international cricket match against Canada.
While Nepal was attempting to achieve a goal of 233 runs, they were successful in doing so by losing just one wicket in 44 overs, achieving a comprehensive victory by nine wickets. Due to Nepal’s great performance, they were able to get a perfect score in all three of their one-day international matches versus Canada. With a decisive victory against Province 1, Madhes Province marked the beginning of their quest for the PM Cup. Anil Sah’s half-century and clinical bowling effort were the driving forces behind Madhes’ victory against Province 1 at Mulpani Cricket Ground, which they won by 72 runs.
