In the latter part of the same month, he was included in Sri Lanka’s Test team, which was also for their series against Australia that was played at home. It was on July 8, 2022, against Australia that he made his debut in a test match for Sri Lanka. During the contest, he not only achieved his first fifty in a test match, but he also formed a partnership with Dinesh Chandimal, who would go on to win the match by a score of 133 runs. The Chattogram Test has been moving at a leisurely pace so far, with just 11 wickets falling over the opening two days. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka both think that the third day would be crucial to the outcome of the match. The host team is hoping to bat out the full day, while the away team is looking to take wickets early on. Sri Lanka has scored a total of 531 runs, which puts them 476 runs ahead of the competition. Even though Bangladesh only lost one wicket in the 15 overs that they were required to traverse on the second evening, there was sufficient evidence to suggest that the bowlers would continue to face a challenging slog.
