Shanto achieved his second hundred-point performance in a test match against Zimbabwe in Harare in July of 2021. The selection of Shanto to Bangladesh’s team for the 2022 ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup took place in September 2022. The first time Shanto ever hit a half-century in Twenty20 International cricket was on October 30, 2022, when he was playing against Zimbabwe. His 71 runs off of 55 balls contributed to Bangladesh’s victory in the match, which they won by three runs. During that tournament, he scored 180 runs, including another fifty against Pakistan, making him the player with the greatest run-scoring total for Bangladesh.
Both the Twenty20 International and One-Day International squads for Bangladesh’s series against England were named to him in March of 2023. In the second one-day international match, which took place on March 1, 2023, he scored his first half-century in one-day international cricket. In the first Twenty20 International, he maintained his fine form by hitting 51 runs off of only 30 balls. This helped Bangladesh win the match by six wickets and secure their first victory in a Twenty20 International that they had played against England. He hit his fifth hundred of his test career in December 2023, which was against New Zealand in the first test of the three-match series. This was his fifth century overall. In the end, Bangladesh prevailed in the match by a score of 150 runs.
