In Uganda’s first Twenty20 World Cup encounter, things did not go according to plan. Uganda, which had decided to bowl first, had a difficult time against the Afghan hitters Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who were able to destroy the bowlers of the opposing team.
In the second over of the match, Zadran hit Nakrani for four consecutive boundaries, which gave the impression that it was feasible for him to hit six fours in a single over. After only allowing two runs to be scored off of his first two deliveries, Masaba delivered a delivery that was very high in the air, which invited Ibrahim to take a powerful shot. The batter was attempting to slog it away on the leg side when he stumbled into the trap as he danced down the track. However, Masaba’s cunning threw him off, and the ball ended up uprooting his stumps despite his best efforts.
