The Afghan cricketer Mujeeb Ur Rahman Zadran was born on March 28, 2001. He is a member of the Afghanistan national cricket team and plays for the Afghanistan sports team. At the age of 16 years and 325 days, he became the youngest player to ever take five wickets in a One Day International. This accomplishment occurred two months after he made his debut on the international stage. In the first test match that Afghanistan played against India in June of 2018, he was one of the eleven cricketers who participated in the contest.
Over two days, Afghanistan succumbed to the one-sided test. After giving up 75 runs, Mujeeb was able to take one wicket and score 15 and 3 runs in each of the two innings. Mujeeb also made his debut in the first-class cricket competition. The cricketer Noor Ali Zadran, who is also his uncle, is also a member of the Afghan national team. On August 10, 2017, he debuted for the Speen Ghar Region in the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One-Day Tournament, which was his first time competing in the List A competition.
The 11th of September 2017 was his first appearance in a Twenty20 match, which he played for Boost Defenders in the Shpageeza Cricket League of 2017. It was in November of 2017 that Comilla Victorians decided to recruit him for the 2017–18 Bangladesh Premier League season. The Kings XI Punjab purchased him in January of 2018, at the 2018 Indian Premier League auction. On the 8th of April in 2018, he made history by being the youngest cricketer to ever compete in the Indian Premier League. He was 17 years and 11 days old at the time.
The Hampshire County Cricket Club decided to sign him in May of 2018, and he will be participating in the Twenty20 Blast event that will take place in England. He was selected to be a member of Nangarhar’s team for the first competition of the Afghanistan Premier League, which took place in September 2018. With a total of twelve wickets taken in nine matches, he was the Nangarhar Leopards’ joint-leading wicket-taker when they were competing in the competition.

The Middlesex County Cricket Club decided to contract him in February 2019 so that he may participate in the 2019 Twenty20 Blast event in England. In November 2019, he was chosen to participate in the Bangladesh Premier League with the Cumilla Warriors for the 2019–20 season. It was on December 30, 2020, during the Big Bash League season of 2020–21 that he achieved his maiden five-wicket haul in Twenty20 cricket. He did it for the Brisbane Heat against the Hobart Hurricanes, taking five wickets for fifteen runs.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad made the purchase of Mujeeb at the Indian Premier League auction that took place in February 2021, just before the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League. His twenty wickets in five matches helped Afghanistan win their first-ever ACC Under-19 Cup championship, making him the highest wicket-taker in the 2017 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup. Afghanistan won the tournament for the first time. The performance that he delivered earned him a spot in Afghanistan’s One Day International (ODI) team in December of 2017 when they were playing Ireland in a series.
On December 5, 2017, he made his Opening One-Day International debut for Afghanistan against Ireland. When he made his debut, he was able to take four wickets for 24 runs from his quota of ten overs, which contributed to his team’s victory by 138 runs. He received the honor of man of the match due to his outstanding performance. For the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2018, Afghanistan selected him to be a member of their team in December 2017. In the Twenty20 International (T20I) match that took place on February 5, 2018, he made his debut for Afghanistan against Zimbabwe.
It was on February 16, 2018, in Sharjah when Mujeeb recorded his first five-wicket haul in a One-Day International match against Zimbabwe. He ended up being awarded the man of the match and being the youngest player in the history of one-day internationals to ever capture five wickets. In February 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) selected Mujeeb as one of the 10 players to keep an eye on in advance of the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier event.

During the opening match of the Super Sixes competition at the World Cup Qualifier, which took place on March 15, 2018, he grabbed three wickets while allowing the West Indies to score 33 runs. In addition, he made a catch off the bowling of Rashid Khan, which contributed to Afghanistan’s victory against them by three wickets. Mujeeb obtained his third one-day international Man of the Match award. While the West Indies and Afghanistan were competing in the final of the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, Afghanistan emerged victorious.
Throughout 9.5 overs, Mujeeb returned with match statistics of 4/43, which assisted Afghanistan in preventing the West Indies from reaching a total of 204. Afghanistan was able to win its first ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier victory after successfully chasing the goal of 205 and losing just three wickets with 10 overs remaining between them. Together with fellow wrist spinner Rashid Khan and Safyaan Sharif of Scotland, he took 17 wickets throughout the event, making him the joint leader in the tournament’s wicket-taking competition.
In May 2018, he was selected to be a part of Afghanistan’s team for their first-ever test match, which was contested against India. In his first test match for Afghanistan, which took place on June 14, 2018, he played against India. During a test match, Mujeeb made his debut as a first-class player, becoming the sixth player overall and the first for Afghanistan. At the age of 17 years and 78 days, he became the youngest player to ever participate in his country’s first-ever Test match. He also became the first player born in the 21st century to ever play in a Test match.
