During the 2017–18 season, he was a member of the Hobart Hurricanes and he performed well. In addition to the exceptional fielding that is typical of the majority of West Indian players, there was also a clinical approach to the ball hitting, actual speed, and craftiness of the players. Due to Archer’s outstanding performance in the Big Bash League, the Rajasthan Royals were able to secure his services at the 2018 Indian Premier League auctions. As far as Twenty20 Leagues are concerned, he is well aware that the Indian Premier League (IPL) is the most prestigious platform of them all, and that if he can flourish there, there is nothing quite like it.
One facet of his future in international cricket is fascinating, and that is the only one. As a consequence of the fact that he was required to play domestic cricket for England for seven years before he became eligible to play for England, he would not be able to fulfill this requirement until about 2022. But to get Archer into the World Cup roster, the European Cricket Board (ECB) did modify the limits for expats. The statement noted that Archer was eligible for selection for both the next Ashes series as well as the World Cup in 2019.
Archer swiftly established himself as a rising star in his debut season in the Indian Premier League, finishing with a total of 15 wickets. Taking into account the fact that he bowled mostly in slog overs, his economic performance was rather remarkable. Archer can bowl a heavy ball in addition to the yorker at will, making him one of the most important weapons that the Royals have at their disposal for the 2019 season. He has not been able to completely exploit his batting abilities in any of the places he has played, but this will soon change since he is also capable of releasing his explosive side.
Sam Curran, an all-rounder for England, has voiced the team’s optimism over Jofra Archer’s comeback to play against Pakistan in the five-twenty-over International series that will begin on May 22. For more than a year, Paceman Archer has been unable to play because of ongoing issues with his back and elbow.
Curran thinks that Archer’s presence will inspire a ‘fear factor’ in the opposition, even though Archer has been out from international cricket for a considerable amount of time.

Because Archer has only played 15 Twenty20 matches for England since making his debut in international competition five years ago, he is included in the team for England’s four-match Twenty20 series against Pakistan, which will begin this week, as well as for the World Cup. As part of his efforts to improve his fitness, the 29-year-old has been participating in club cricket in Barbados. Just this past week, he grabbed a wicket for Sussex’s second one-day team.
Archer, who is considered to be one of the most exciting bowlers in cricket, has had his career ruined because of injuries. Because of chronic difficulties with his right elbow, for which he has had two procedures, the 29-year-old has played for England in very few formats since 2021. This is mostly because he has undergone two surgeries. Because of a back ailment, he was unable to participate in most of 2022. It was in May of 2023 that he made his last appearance for England, and ever since then, he has been working hard to rehabilitate from an elbow injury that has kept him out of action for over a year.
