Christopher James Jordan is a Barbadian-English cricketer who was born on October 4, 1988. He currently represents England in One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket, and he has also played for the Test side in the past. After having previously played for Sussex, he now plays for Surrey in domestic cricket. He has also participated in several Twenty20 competitions, including the Indian Premier League, where he has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings, and Chennai Super Kings.
2012 was Jordan’s first One-Day International, while 2014 was his first Twenty20 International. Between 2014 and 2015, Jordan was a member of the Test squad. During the 2022 Twenty20 World Cup, he was a member of the England side that triumphed. In August 2007, Jordan made his debut with the Surrey First XI against Middlesex at Lord’s. When he made his first appearance in a first-class competition, he took 2–41, and in his second encounter, which was against Durham, he helped the home team get out by taking 3–42. NBC presented him with the Denis Compton Award in 2007 for being Surrey’s most promising young player.
In 2010, Jordan was unable to participate in the English cricket season because he had suffered a stress fracture of the back the previous year. His return to training occurred in December of that year. Jordan had been with Surrey for six years before the county decided to dismiss him after the 2012 season. Before joining Sussex for the English 2013 season, he played for the Barbados national cricket team for a second winter season. On his debut against Yorkshire, he achieved championship-best figures of 6–48. He then returned to Barbados to play for the Barbados national cricket team.
Even though he was eligible to play for both England and the West Indies (courtesy of his maternal ancestry and his residence), he chose to play for England. He played his first one-day international (ODI) match in September 2013, which was against Australia. On May 28, 2014, at Old Trafford, he recorded his maiden five-wicket haul in an ODI match against Sri Lanka. He had statistics of 5 for 29, which contributed to England’s victory by 10 wickets.

Jordan played his first one-day international against Australia when he earned a score of 3–51. The pick of Jordan had taken many people by surprise because he had been dealing with injury issues. Jordan participated in the first two matches of the return series in Australia, where he obtained a score of 1–50 and 2–53 respectively. Jordan was a participant in all three of the series’ final games, with his best performance coming in the series’ final game, when he finished with a record of 2–37. As a result of the fact that Jordan’s economy rate did not exceed 6.00 runs per over in any of the games, he is considered to be one of the prominent bowlers for England.
As a result of the weather that impacted the match, Jordan made his debut in the Twenty20 format at the World Cup against New Zealand. During the second match against Sri Lanka, he took 2–28, which helped England win a victory that was less than expected. Jordan participated in the team’s loss against South Africa, which put an end to their aspirations of advancing further in the tournament (South Africa). In three overs against the Netherlands, he grabbed seven wickets and thirteen runs, but he was unable to prevent England from suffering a humiliating loss.
Jordan was outstanding in the opening one-day international match of the series against Sri Lanka when he took three wickets and twenty-five runs and hit 38 runs off of just sixteen balls. Because of this, he was awarded the title of man of the match. During the third match of the series, Jordan took a score of 5–29, which allowed England to easily obtain victory. Jordan’s performance in the fourth match was costly, as he managed to score 2–67. Sri Lanka won the match, which meant that the series would now go to a final. He finished with a score of 1–55 in the last match, which England ultimately lost 3–2 and the series overall.
Jordan’s outstanding efforts earned him a spot on the test squad, which he will use to compete against Sri Lanka. The first test match ended in a tie, even though he took five wickets throughout the encounter. However, he was unable to cause a win for his team. The second match was less remarkable for him, as he did not take a wicket and England ended up losing by a score of one hundred runs. The first test match against India was scheduled to take place, however, Jordan was not included in the team because Ben Stokes was able to recover from his injury.

With England in a dominating position, he took four wickets and eighteen runs in the second innings, which contributed to England’s victory in the match and the series, which they won three to one.
