Having been born on April 26, 2000, Atharva Taide is a cricketer who hails from India. It was on September 20, 2018, that he made his debut for Vidarbha in the List A competition of the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy. The announcement that he will be a member of India’s squad for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup came in December of 2018. During the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, which took place on December 22, 2018, he made his debut for Vidarbha in the first-class competition.

On February 21, 2019, he made his debut for Vidarbha in the Twenty20 competition, which was part of the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In February of 2022, the Punjab Kings participated in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League competition and purchased him based on his performance. As a youngster, Atharva’s father saw him carrying a plastic bat with both hands and attempting to hit an imagined ball from all directions, exactly like a shadow practice. Atharva’s father took this activity very seriously. Upon seeing his son’s unwavering commitment, his father constructed a box net on their property, purchased a bowling machine, and installed floodlights so that his son could practice even when it was late at night.

At one point in his life, he would go to the Akola Cricket Club Ground (ACC) in the morning to practice cricket. During the day, he would go to school and change his outfit on the ground itself. He would also attend school. In the past, he would go home from school around one o’clock in the afternoon, and then he would go to practice at about three o’clock. Sometimes, he would practice in the nets with his father till one in the morning. This would happen on occasion. After some time had passed, he decided to enroll at the Vengsarkar Cricket Academy.

Taide was given the responsibility of replacing the void left by Faiz Fazal, a local cricket great who played in 138 matches throughout his 20-year career in the First-Class format. Given Taide’s lackluster performance as an opener in the Indian Premier League (IPL), it is possible that he was more concerned with his unimpressive four-run tally from two innings than he was with his innate aptitude as an opener.
