Ramaswamy Shreyas Gopal is a cricketer from India who now represents Kerala in the state’s domestic cricket competition. He was born on September 4, 1993. Besides bowling leg break, he bats right-handed and is an all-rounder who bowls leg break. In 2011, he participated in three one-day internationals for the India Under-19 cricket team. He has previously served as the captain of Karnataka at several different age levels, including Under-13, Under-15, Under-16, and Under-19. The year 2013 saw Gopal’s first appearance for Karnataka.
During the match versus the Rest of India on February 12, 2014, Gopal scored the first hat-trick in the history of the Irani Cup. This was a significant factor in Karnataka’s victory in the Irani Cup. In August 2019, he was selected to be a member of the India Blue team’s roster for the Duleep Trophy for the 2019–20 season. The Rajasthan Royals bid for him at the 2018 Indian Premier League auction in January of that year. During the 2019 Indian Premier League match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, which took place on April 30th, of this year, he scored three runs.
Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Marcus Stoinis were among the players removed from the game. During the quickest Indian Premier League game ever, Shreyas Gopal scored a hat trick. One of the teams who participated in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League competition was Sunrisers Hyderabad, which purchased him in February of that year. The Frank Anthony Public School in Bangalore was where Shreyas Gopal received his education. It was at Jain University that he earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree.
His mother, Amitha, was a volleyball player at the state level, while his father, Ramaswamy Gopal, played club cricket for twenty years. One of his favorite things to do when he was little was to try to replicate the bowling motion of his idol, Anil Kumble. The batting problems that Kerala is experiencing do not seem to have a fast remedy. There are four changes, one of which is that three younger players will be making their debuts.

The new starting combination, which consisted of Rohan Kunnammal, the captain, and Anand Krishnan, who was making his debut, only lasted for four overs until Vipul broke through the defense of the former. While the ball was bouncing about, the dependable Sachin Baby and Vishnu Vinod made their way to the changing room as quickly as they could. Rohan Prem was replaced by Akshay Chandran, and he rode his luck early on. However, Anand Krishnan was bowled out by Veer for nine, and Kerala struggled to maintain their position at 34 for four at lunch.
During his time as the captain of Karnataka, Nair amassed a total of 11 hundred and sixteen fifties in first-class cricket matches for the state. His highest score was 328, which he achieved in the Ranji Trophy final against Tamil Nadu in 2014-2015. With the weight of those runs in just his second season, he was in contention for a position in the national side. His Test debut came a year later, against England, in a series in which he became only the second Indian to make a triple-hundred in Test cricket. He was the only player in Indian cricket history to accomplish this feat.
Karnataka has seen the rise of two promising middle-order batsmen, Nikin Jose, and Vishal Onat, during the period when Nair has been unable to find his footing. In the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy, Jose had a breakthrough season, scoring 547 runs in 13 innings at an average of 49.72. This was a significant accomplishment for Jose. His attitude was singled out for praise, and as a result, he was selected for the India A team that competed in the Emerging Asia Cup, which took place in Sri Lanka and was only recently finished.
In the three games that Gopal has played for MI this season, he has not been able to bring about a meaningful influence. With an economy rate of 9.57, the 30-year-old has only taken three wickets so far in the Indian Premier League 2024. When the squad faced the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their last encounter, the crafty bowled just two overs, and he returned with stats of 1/26. In preparation for their match against RR, MI made three changes to their starting lineup. Taking the place of Shreyas Gopal, Romario Shepherd, and Akash Madhwal were Piyush Chawla, Nehal Wadhera, and Nuwan Thushara, who was making his debut.

As part of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2024, Mumbai Indians signed their former bowler Shreyas Gopal on Tuesday, December 19, at a base price of Rs 20 lakhs. In 2014, Shreyas Gopal made his debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with the Mumbai Indians. At the beginning of his career, he was able to take six wickets in only four games. However, he was only able to participate in two more games throughout the subsequent two seasons.
In 2018, Rajasthan Royals purchased his services. He played in the same number of games as he did in his debut season with the Royals, and he took 11 wickets. As a result of Hardik Pandya’s nomination as the new captain of the Mumbai Indians franchise in the Indian Premier League, Shreyas Gopal, a leg-spinner for the Mumbai Indians, has said that it is encouraging to see how Hardik Pandya is responding to the criticism.
The batting problems that Kerala is experiencing do not seem to have a fast remedy. In the Ranji Trophy cricket match that took place at the Moin Ul Haq stadium in this city on Friday, Kerala put on another unimpressive display with the bat and gave the edge to the team that was hosting the match, Bihar. The four changes, which included giving debuts to three inexperienced players, did nothing to stop the usual collapse that had been occurring.
