Krishnappa Gowtham is a cricketer from India who now represents the state of Karnataka. He was born on October 20th, 1988. His first appearance for India on the international stage was in July of 2021. In the sport of kabaddi, his father, M. Krishnappa, went on to represent Karnataka. When Gowtham was selected for the under-15 Zonal Tournament in Bangalore, he emerged as the second-highest wicket-taker. This marked the beginning of his transition into the professional cricketing world.
In November 2012, he made his debut for Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy competition against Bengal. He was successful in taking two wickets, both of which came in the second innings of the match. Gowtham amassed two consecutive five-wicket hauls during the Ranji Trophy season of 2016–2017. These hauls were against Delhi and Assam, and they were vital in his team’s victory in each of those matches. It was in the later game that he achieved the highest statistics of his career, which were 7/108.
In February of 2017, the Mumbai Indians club paid a total of two crores to acquire Gowtham to participate in the 2017 Indian Premier League. On February 25, 2017, he made his debut for Karnataka in the List A competition that was part of the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy. When Gowtham was batting for Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy match against Assam in October 2017, he earned his first-ever century in a first-class match.

The Chennai Super Kings made the purchase of Gowtham at the IPL auction that took place in February 2021, just before the beginning of the 2021 Indian Premier League.
With a price tag of 9.25 crores of Indian rupees, Gowtham became the most expensive uncapped player in the history of the Indian Premier League. Andre Russell, a dangerman for the Kolkata Knight Riders, attempted to smash a huge hit off the delivery of Naveen-ul-Haq, a pacer, in the 15th over of the innings, but he ended up slicing it in the air instead. It is a reflection of the high standards of contemporary cricket that he has shown on the field when moments like this have the potential to change the outcome of a match. Rhodes’s response drives home the point that fielding is an essential component of cricket, a feature of the game that he revolutionized during his playing days.
At the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Sunday, the replacement fielder Krishnappa Gowtham of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) was able to get rid of the all-rounder Andre Russell of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by snatching a blinder. Naveen-ul-Haq was able to take his second wicket of the innings thanks to the breathtaking catch that Gowtham made. The dismissal occurred in the fifteenth over of the innings, when Naveen hit a full and wide ball to the Jamaican marauder, who then launched his hands at it with great physical force.
After running in from cover, Gowtham dove to his fullest extent as the ball became lodged in his hands, so providing the home team with a winning breakthrough. On top of that, the fielding coach for the LSG, Jonty Rhodes, praised the innings. For the Super Giants to prevail against the Knight Riders at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, they will need to achieve their best run chase. KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Nicholas Pooran are the three major hitters for the home team, and they need to step up their game to assist them in completing the run chase.
