Arshad Khan is a Cricketer from India who was born on December 20th, 1997. He now plays for the Madhya Pradesh team in the Indian domestic cricket league and the Lucknow Super Giants team in the Indian Premier League. His first appearance in List A was on February 24, 2021, when he played for Madhya Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy during the 2020–21 season. In the Twenty20 tournament, he made his debut for Mumbai Indians on April 2, 2023, against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match was part of the Indian Premier League.
“Arshad Khan is another one of those heartwarming stories that are coming out of the Indian Premier League. He came from the gullies of Gopalganj, which is located in the remote areas of Madhya Pradesh, to the City of Dreams.” The 2019-20 U-23 Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy was one of his first showcase performances. He scored 86 runs off of 54 balls against Mumbai, which was one of his first performances that stood out.
This 25-year-old left-handed seamer and big-hitting left-handed batsman would be anxious to put the disappointment of the previous year, in which he was forced to sit out of the Indian Premier League and the whole domestic season due to repeated injuries, behind him and prove a point or two. During the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Delhi Capitals, which took place on Friday in Lucknow, Ayush Badoni and Arshad Khan had a 73-run uninterrupted partnership off of 42 balls.
In the history of the Indian Premier League, their partnership achieved the highest score for the eighth wicket. It surpassed the previous record set by the Rajasthan Royals team of James Faulkner and Brad Hodge, who had scored 69 runs off of 41 balls in a match against the Mumbai Indians in 2014. Badoni and Arshad were able to bring Lucknow back from the brink of collapse when it was standing at 94 for seven in the thirteenth over. While Khaleel Ahmed, a pacer, made early inroads by taking two wickets in the PowerPlay phase of the match.

With three strikes in his first two overs, Kuldeep Yadav completely threw off the middle order of Lucknow’s batting lineup. Ishant Sharma and Mukesh Kumar each took a wicket, which further increased Lucknow’s predicament, but Badoni and Arshad were able to save the day for the squad that was playing at home. While Badoni reached his fourth fifty in Twenty20 cricket, Arshad struck a twenty-off sixteen balls. Badoni’s innings ended with an undefeated fifty-five off of thirty-five balls.
It was the first time that Lucknow Super Giants had ever lost a match in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and they did it by defending a score that was higher than 160 against their opponents. Jake Fraser-McGurk, who was making his debut, scored a half-century, while Rishabh Pant scored 41 runs off of 24 balls, which allowed Delhi Capitals to chase down 168 runs without much of a hustle. The Los Angeles Supergiants (LSG) will be dissatisfied with their loss of a home game; yet, the situation might have been much more dire for them if Ayush Badoni had not performed an outstanding knock with the bat while forming an important combination with Arshad Khan.
After deciding to bat first, the Super Giants lost a series of fast wickets and were now reeling at 94/7 at one point, with seven overs remaining in the game. They were looking down the barrel. At this point, Badoni and Arshad joined forces and contributed 73 runs for the eighth wicket partnership, which increased the total number of runs scored by LSG to 167 in their 20 overs. The partnership of 73 runs for the eighth wicket is the greatest ever in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This partnership shattered the mark that had stood for ten years of Brad Hodge and James Faulkner, who had contributed 69 runs for Rajasthan Royals in 2014 against Mumbai Indians.
The Indian Premier League 2024 Auctions resulted in the purchase of Mitchell Starc for a sum of 24.75 Crore. As a result, there were understandably great expectations when he made his debut on the field for the first time in KKR colors during this season. However, he has suddenly stormed back into form with three wickets in four overs while handing out only 28 runs. The Australian player was unable to reveal his magic in the first few games of the season.

In the last over of LSG’s innings, he grabbed two wickets, the last of which came on the penultimate ball, when he cleaned out Arshad Khan with an absolute beauty. He also took the rest of the wickets in the final over. Although it was a full delivery that began from the off-stump line, it came in late and smashed the stumps because Arshad Khan was unable to hit his wild slog out of the park. As LSG looks to continue their great record when defending totals in the Indian Premier League, he will make a significant contribution to the team’s success tonight.
In the second inning of the game, his probable matchups against Prithvi Shaw and David Warner on the powerplay will be a fascinating one to look forward to. He will be facing both of them. During the 2022 auction, the Mumbai Indians (MI) paid a base price of INR 20 Lakh to acquire Arshad Khan as a player. On the other hand, owing to an injury, he was unable to participate in any of the games throughout the season. Kumar Kartikeya ultimately took his position. MI kept him on for the 2023 edition, even though he did not participate in a single match.
