Abhishek Sharma is a cricketer from India who was born on September 4, 2000. He now plays for Punjab in the Indian domestic cricket league and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League football league. On February 25, 2017, he made his debut for Punjab in the List A competition that was part of the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy. At the Ranji Trophy match that took place on October 6, 2017, he made his debut for Punjab in the first-class competition.
He was selected to be a member of India’s team for the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2018, which was hosted in New Zealand. The announcement was made in December of 2017. It was in January of 2018 that the Delhi Daredevils purchased him for a total of Rs 5.5 million at the 2018 Indian Premier League auction. He made his debut in the Twenty20 format on May 12, 2018, while playing for the Delhi Daredevils in the 2018 Indian Premier League. He went on to score 46 runs off of only 19 balls during his first innings.
When he was playing for Punjab against Madhya Pradesh on February 28, 2021, he achieved the record for the quickest hundred by an Indian player in List-A cricket, which he accomplished in 42 balls. One of the teams who participated in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League competition was Sunrisers Hyderabad, which purchased him in February of that year. During the 2022 Indian Premier League season, he participated in 14 matches and scored a total of 426 runs.
At the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, on March 27, 2024, he struck the quickest fifty for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Mumbai Indians. This score occurred during the Indian Premier League 2024. By the first of May, the BCCI selection committee, which is directed by Ajit Agarkar, is anticipated to have concluded India’s 15-man roster for the next Twenty20 World Cup 2024. The selection of players such as Riyan Parag, Mayank Yadav, and Abhishek Sharma for the International Cricket Council event that will take place in the United States and the West Indies is very improbable.

The struggle for berths in India’s team is becoming more intense as the Twenty20 World Cup draws closer closer. The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is an important platform for players to take advantage of to obtain their chosen team. Within the context of the current important event, the selectors are paying particular attention to the performances of the athletes. According to the Press Trust of India (PTI), the selectors would not consider players with insufficient experience in the Twenty20 World Cup.
After the competition, however, there is reason to be optimistic about the prospects of these up-and-coming players. It is quite probable that the younger players will be allowed to participate in a bilateral series in the shorter format with the national team. The report said that the selection committee acknowledges the accomplishments of Riyan Parag, Mayank Yadav, Abhishek Sharma, and Harshit Rana on their respective achievements. The selectors, on the other hand, would rather include them in bilateral series than force them to compete in high-stakes World Twenty20 matches.
In Hyderabad, on Thursday, April 25, the two teams will compete against one another. The SRH team is currently in third position on the points table with a total of ten points after seven games. If they are successful in their match against RCB, they will be able to move up to the second spot and boost their chances of making it into the playoffs. During a video preview of the game that Chopra uploaded to his YouTube account, he selected Travis Head and Abhishek as the players from the SRH who would be the center of attention during Thursday’s game.
On the other hand, he questioned if the latter may be an unexpected selection for India’s Twenty20 World Cup side in 2024. With his powerful hitting at the top of the order for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Abhishek Sharma has placed his name in the hat for the Indian side that will be competing in the forthcoming World Cup.

It is because of the scary starting duo that the left-handed player has developed with Travis Head that the side has been able to achieve three scores of 250 or more in only eight games during the Indian Premier League 2024. As far as attacking spin is concerned, Abhishek has been even more successful. To put that into perspective, his strike rate against the tweakers is 240, while his strike rate versus pacers is roughly 199.
His fifty off of sixteen balls against the Mumbai Indians was the quickest in the history of SRH batters. Abhishek made 46 runs off of only 12 balls while playing against Delhi Capitals. He came close to matching the record for the quickest fifty in the Indian Premier League (13 balls) with his performance.
In addition, Abhishek continued his excellent performance against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where he was able to smash a 31-run score off 13 balls.
In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Thursday (April 25), Yash Dayal grabbed the valued scalp of Abhishek Sharma, who was in a good shape at the time of the match. After a total of 13 balls and 31 runs, Sharma exited the game with two sixes and three boundaries. In the fourth over of SRH’s attempt to chase down runs, the dismissal occurred.
Dayal delivered a full-length ball, and Sharma attempted to hit a lofted stroke, but he ended up with a top edge that soared up into the air. Dinesh Karthik, the wicketkeeper, positioned himself below it to finish the very high catch. Throughout this season, Abhishek Sharma has been an outstanding performer for the Sunrisers while batting. The left-handed pitcher has scored 288 runs throughout eight innings.
