In the domestic cricket league, he is a member of Andhra, while in the Indian Premier League, he is a member of Sunrisers Hyderabad. It was on January 27, 2020, for Andhra in the Ranji Trophy 2019โ20 that he made his debut in the first-class competition. During the 2020โ21 Vijay Hazare Trophy, he made his debut in the List A competition on February 20, 2021, while playing for Andhra.
On November 4, 2021, he made his debut in the Twenty20 format, playing for Andhra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy during the 2021โ22 season. During the 2023 Indian Premier League auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad paid a total of twenty thousand rupees to acquire his services. Nitish began playing cricket when he was five years old, using a plastic bat. He would often go to the Hindustan Zinc fields to see older players compete in an international cricket match.
To assist his son in pursuing a cricket career, Nitish went to VDCA camps and first trained under the guidance of trainers Kumara Swamy, Krishna Rao, and Watekar. His father, who had abandoned his job when he was relocated to Udaipur, wanted to assist his son in pursuing a cricket career.”When my dad quit his job, I was either 12 or 13 years old,” Nitish stated about his father’s choice. This resulted in his relocation to Udaipur.
At that location, he analyzed the cricket, and he was concerned about the politics that may have an impact on my game. As a result of his commitment to my game, he decided to leave his employment. Some relatives questioned his choices. The first person who had faith in me was without a doubt him. Nitish was discovered by MSK Prasad, a former Indian cricketer, and selector when he was playing in matches for the Under-12 and Under-14 age groups. He was then selected to study at the ACA Academy in Kadapa, where he was coached by Madhusudhana Reddy and Srinivasa Rao.

Following this, he went on to have a remarkable season, during which he scored 441 runs against Nagaland. This earned him the Jagmohan Dalmiya award for “Best Cricketer in the Under-16” from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the 2017โ2018 season. As the first player from the Andhra Cricket Association to get the BCCI award, Nitish is worthy of praise.
When it comes to the Indian Premier League, it is always important to keep an eye on the younger players. As they enter this arena, they do so with a clear and brilliant look in their eyes. This year’s Indian Premier League has already shown that several uncapped Indian players have a great deal of ambition to accomplish what they have always dreamed of. Among these up-and-coming talents is Nitish Kumar Reddy himself.
Although Nitish made his debut in the most difficult Twenty20 competition, he did not receive many opportunities to play for the Sunrisers during the 2023 season. He was only able to participate in two games during the terrible season that SRH had, and he did not even get to bat. Throughout the previous season, he bowled five overs in two different games and did not take any wickets. However, in the year 2024, he has garnered attention, and other possibilities are on their way to him.
In his first game of the season, which was against Chennai Super Kings, he scored 14 runs off of eight balls. However, by the time he went in to bat, the game was already practically over even though he had made 14 runs off of eight balls. On the other hand, his effort in the subsequent game versus Punjab Kings was the most remarkable of his career.

The twenty-year-old stood up to propel the visitors to a score of 182 that was barely enough to hold the Kings by two runs. This was after the much-lauded SRH batting line-up failed to perform well in the circumstances of Mullanpur, which were characterized by seaming and swinging. In addition to those 182 runs, Nitish scored 64 runs off of 37 balls. 25 was the next best option.
The Andhra batter then established a foundation for a late finish in a run-fest against the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. This came after the Sunrisers had lost Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen in quick succession. He scored 37 runs off of 27 balls, including two sixes and the same number of boundaries. Even when he had possession of the ball, he was successful.
Nitish bowls at more than 130 kilometers per hour, has slower balls and has the finesse that a Twenty20 bowler ought to have. At this point in the season, he has taken three wickets and has a batting average of 16.67 with the ball. Considering that India needs additional fast-bowling all-rounders in addition to Hardik Pandya, he has the potential to become the next big thing in Indian cricket. This is because the impact player rule is having such a significant influence on the league.
What Nitish Kumar Reddy remembers most about the Indian Premier League is a misfield. In the year 2023, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the bowler, and he was fielding at deep point. Both of these events took place. During his time playing domestic cricket, he developed the habit of determining the intensity of a stroke based on the sound that the bat created. In the Indian Premier League, the volume was so high that he had no guide to follow. Although he raced in, he was under the impression that the batter had chopped the ball, but he ended up missing it entirely.
