His father, Jitender Dagar, is a contractor with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. He was a baseball player at the collegiate level and now works for the organization. Raina believed that Rohit Sharma would not have talked in such a manner about his teammate, while he was referring to a match against Rajasthan Royals in which the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) said that Mayank Dagar was the reason for the defeat. Even though Mayank Dagar had a remarkable beginning to his period against Chennai Super Kings, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru were able to hinder his performance as the match neared its decisive minutes.
After Dagar had completed his first two overs, Dinesh Karthik has now explained why they chose to refrain from utilizing him in the match. just six runs scored in two overs. On Friday, March 22, 2024, the Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru played the first match of the Indian Premier League 2024. Mayank Dagar’s performance in that match was as described above.
Even though the host team was making a ferocious effort to chase down 174 at the Chepauk, Dagar, who had been acquired from Sunrisers Hyderabad in exchange for Shahbaz Ahmed, did not allow any boundaries to be hit during his brief stint against the CSK hitters. Karthik said that the primary reason why they decided to prevent Dagar from playing was the fact that Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube were at the crease, and it would not have been a very good matchup between them.
The appearance of Jadeja and Shivam Dube was the primary cause behind this. Bowling against a left-arm spinner was not a very good matchup. As a result, the likelihood of just a few border crossings will increase. It was for this reason that Faf (du Plessis) decided to wait on and bring in a quick bowler so that they could attempt a few short balls and put pressure on them. As a result of the one-dimensional strategy that RCB used with pacers and the decision to not use Dagar, the analysts were startled, and Sunil Gavaskar questioned the decision.

The legendary Indian cricket player said that the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) should have taken a risk with the spinner rather than letting their pacers just bowl short. A transaction that includes Shahbaz Ahamad transferring to the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has resulted in the transfer of all-rounder Mayank Dagar to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) before the auction for the Indian Premier League 2024.
In the previous year’s auction, SRH paid INR 1.8 Crore to acquire the services of Dagar, a left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder from Delhi. He has taken 55 Twenty20 wickets at an average of 23.03 and an economy rate of only 6.57 since his signing. After playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in a total of 39 matches, Shahbaz has decided to leave the team. He now has 14 wickets to his credit, which he took at an economy rate of 9.15 wickets per over.
Dagar comes into RCB with credentials that go beyond simply his left-arm spin. He is a handy lower-order hitter and a great fielder, and he has shown his value for Himachal Pradesh in the local circuit. Even though he only played three matches in the Indian Premier League 2023, Dagar brings other credentials with him. Dinesh Karthik, the wicketkeeper for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), has disclosed the specific reason why his team did not let Mayank Dagar bowl in the first game of the Indian Premier League 2024.
RCB’s Dinesh Karthik was an impact player in the first match of the Indian Premier League 2024. In the first match of the Indian Premier League 2024, Mayank Dagar bowled two great overs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Mayank Dagar, a left-arm spinner, let in just six runs throughout his two overs in the match between RCB and CSK. In both of his overs, he stopped the CSK hitters from scoring a lot of runs and didn’t even allow them to hit a boundary. Later in the match, however, RCB did not give him a chance to play.
