While playing Australia in the fourth Twenty20 International, he scored 35 runs off of 19 balls. The sixth Twenty20 International saw him score 24 runs off of 16 balls. During the Indian Premier League match between Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma once again failed to create an impression with the bat going out of the game for a low score. Jitesh, who was India’s first-choice wicketkeeper batter before the beginning of the Indian Premier League, has not been able to reproduce his success from the previous season in the current edition of the IPL.
He has scored 71 runs in five matches so far this season, and he was removed early for 19 against SRH on Tuesday at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh. He has played five matches throughout this season. Jitesh needed to play a significant knock for Punjab to go closer to the objective of 184 runs. The wicketkeeper hitter got off to a fantastic start and smashed a four and a six, but he threw away his wicket to play a huge shot.
With a batting average of 156.06, he finished the previous season with 309 runs scored in 14 games. It is because of his exploits with the bat and the gloves that he has been able to enter into the Indian Twenty20 International setup. In the nine matches that Jitesh has played for India since he made his debut in October 2023, he has scored 100 runs at a strike rate of 147.05, while also taking three catches and being involved in a single stumping.

Reddy demonstrated his bowling skill by capturing the coveted scalp of Jitesh Sharma in the second part of the match. This came after he had rescued his side from a precarious situation by scoring a phenomenal 64 off just 37 balls. The event took place during the sixteenth over of Punjab’s innings, when the captain of the SRH team, Pat Cummins, summoned Reddy back into the attack to break the partnership that was developing between Jitesh and Shashank Singh, who had been the hero of the previous game.
Reddy bowled a slower short ball after surrendering a six on his second delivery. Jitesh attempted to force the ball over the square leg boundary, but Reddy’s delivery was far slower. However, the batsman for Vidarbha was unable to time it well, and Abhishek Sharma’s incredible sprinting catch brought an end to his short cameo appearance. Shashank Singh has resumed his assault on the Orange Army at one end, even though he has lost Jitesh.
Ashutosh Sharma too had a phenomenal performance, scoring 33 runs off of 15 deliveries made by him. On the other hand, their heroic efforts were ultimately fruitless, as the Sunrisers emerged winners by a slim margin of two runs overall. The recently chosen vice-captain of the Punjab Kings, Jitesh Sharma, sent a warm welcome to the Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza before to the beginning of the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League.
Mohali’s Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium will play host to the first match of the Indian Premier League 2024, which will take place on Saturday, March 23. The match will be between PBKS and Delhi Capitals. At a starting price of Rs 50 lakh, PBKS was able to get Raza’s services at the auction for the Indian Premier League 2023. During the previous season of the Indian Premier League, he participated in seven matches, during which he took three wickets, scored 139 runs, and won the match with a 57 against Lucknow Super Giants.
