In the year 1982, on November 24th, Amit Mishra was born. He is a cricketer from India. He bowls with his right arm and uses the leg break, while he bats with his right hand and is a tail-ender. At the moment, he is a member of the Twenty20 team Lucknow Super Giants, which competes in the Indian Premier League. He also plays for Haryana in the Ranji Trophy, which is the local competition. In addition, he has played for India in Test matches, One-Day Internationals, and Twenty20 Internationals. Mishra was a part of the Indian side that triumphed in the National Cricket Council Champions Trophy in 2013.
Initially, Mishra was called up to the Indian side for a test match against the West Indies in the year 2002; however, he was not picked for competition. After Anil Kumble, the team’s captain and first-choice leg spinner, suffered an injury, Mishra made his debut in the Test cricket competition against Australia during the second test match, which took place at Mohali (PCA stadium). During the first innings of the contest, he grabbed five wickets for 71 runs scored by Australia. In the second innings, he took two wickets for 35 runs, making him the highest wicket-taker in the match. India went on to win the match decisively.
On the other hand, Indian coach Gary Kirsten said that Mishra would be removed from the team if Kumble was able to recuperate in time for the third test. Despite this, Harbhajan Singh sustained an injury, which allowed Mishra to continue playing when Kumble entered the game. After that, Kumble suffered an injury during the test match and decided to withdraw, leaving Mishra as India’s favored leg spinner for the test match. Mishra was an option for India’s test tour of New Zealand at the beginning of 2009; however, India decided to play just one spinner, and he watched as Harbhajan took care of the spin chores by himself.

It wasn’t until November 2009 that India played their next test. In the high-scoring and drawn First Test, Mishra only managed to take one wicket. As a result, he was discarded for the Second Test in favor of Pragyan Ojha, a left-arm orthodox spinner. Pragyan Ojha continued to play the role of the second spinner for the Third Test. Mishra was brought back for the tour of Bangladesh and was the sole spinner to participate in the first test match, which took place in Chittagong. This was because Harbhajan had sustained an injury.
As a night watchman, he scored fifty runs during the second innings and got seven wickets at that time. But in the subsequent test for Ojha, he was once again dismissed from the team. In a later encounter with the Indian cricket team, which took place in England in 2011, he achieved his best score ever, which was 84, in the final test match. During India’s tour to the West Indies in 2016, Mishra was a member of the team that traveled there. He participated in two tests and took six wickets during his time there.
In 2003, Mishra made his debut in the One-Day International (ODI) competition against South Africa. The match took place during the TVS Cup. Situated in South Africa, Mishra participated in the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy. Following Harbhajan’s decision to take a break for the last two matches of the round-robin competition, Mishra participated in two one-day internationals (ODIs) against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in a triangular tournament at the beginning of the Bangladesh trip.
Following his comeback, he will play in a one-day series against Zimbabwe in July 2013. He bowled four wickets and forty-seven runs against Zimbabwe in the third one-day international match, which took place on July 28, 2013. In July 2013, Mishra became victorious in a five-match series or tournament against Zimbabwe, achieving the most number of wickets of any bowler. The spinner also tied the global mark for the most wickets in a bilateral one-day international series, which was previously held by the famous Indian bowler Javagal Srinath, with 18 wickets.

While Srinath was able to accomplish his accomplishment in seven matches, Mishra was able to equal the mark in fewer matches. In the sixth encounter of the Asia Cup, which took place on February 2, 2014, Mishra bowled a brilliant stint that resulted in two wickets against Pakistan. Mishra’s bowling stats of 2 for 28 from his 10 overs were the sixth greatest economical bowling figures in the history of the Asia Cup (bowlers who have bowled a minimum of 10 overs are the only ones included).
It was ESPNcricinfo who chose him to be a part of the second team for the ICC World Twenty20 Cup in 2014. During India’s tour to the West Indies in 2016, Mishra was a member of the team that traveled there. In one of the two Twenty20 Internationals, he got three wickets, achieving a career-high rating of 3/24 in the process. In the one-day international tour of India that New Zealand undertook in 2016–2017, he was a member of the team. He finished with 15 wickets throughout the five games, including 5/18 in the last game, which contributed to India’s victory in the series by a score of 3–2. He was ultimately named the Player of the Series.
In the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, he bowled nine matches and took sixteen wickets, making him the highest wicket-taker for Haryana. It was on April 17, 2013, during the sixth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2013) that he scored a hat-trick while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Pune Warriors India. With this hat-trick, he became the first player in the history of the IPL to score three hat-tricks.
The first time he achieved a hat trick was in the Indian Premier League in 2008, when he was playing for Delhi Daredevils against Deccan Chargers. The second time he did it was in 2011 when he was playing for Deccan Chargers against Kings XI Punjab. His accomplishments in 2013 earned him a spot in the ESPNcricinfo Indian Premier League XI. During the victory that DC had against KKR in Sharjah, Mishra sustained an injury to his finger. Mishra just bowled two overs before leaving the field as a result of his injury.
