However, following the tournament, he was promptly removed from consideration, and ever since then, he has not been brought back into consideration. Chakravarthy made a surprising accusation when he spoke up about what transpired after the Twenty20 World Cup. He said that a group of people distributed false information about his injuries to keep him from playing for the Indian team.
The visit to Sri Lanka in July 2021 by a second-string Indian team was the occasion on which Chakravarthy made his debut on the international stage. Although he played in three matches before being selected for the World Cup team, he only managed to take one wicket during that time. In the three matches that he participated in at that ICC tournament, he did not take a wicket, including a total of 0/33 against Pakistan which he achieved.
Chopra said that Anukul Roy allows KKR to have a fourth spin-bowling option available to them. He went on to say that the two-time winners have a formidable spin bowling department and that their spinners have the potential to be a part of their offensive strategy. On the other hand, he admitted that it would be a little bit challenging to find a spot in the playing eleven for the Australian leg-spinner.
Even though Jos Buttler, Shimron Hetmyer, and Trent Boult are almost an absolute certainty, he said that the franchise paid ₹7.40 crore to buy Rovman Powell at the auction. In addition, the India opener who was not in favor had to go back to the dressing room for the very next delivery. As Prithvi Shaw attempted to hit a shot towards mid-on against a ball that arrived at the very last second, he made a mistake.
At first glance, it seemed as if the ball would land quite close to where Varun Chakravarthy was standing. The KKR spinner, on the other hand, made a perfectly timed dive and managed to catch the ball just a few inches above the surface. The departure of Prithvi Shaw occurred after he had scored ten runs off of seven balls. In the first two games of the season, the right-handed batter did not have an opportunity to participate in the starting eleven. After Losing both of those games, the Washington Nationals decided to bring him back into the lineup.
