His performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2014 (401 runs in 16 matches) and 2017 (396 runs in 13 matches) earned him a spot on the list of top 10 scorers in both seasons. In the year 2018, Sunrisers Hyderabad made a purchase of him for a sum of ₹11 percent. A lack of form led to his dismissal from the team for most of the Indian Premier League 2021 season. After that, Pandey was a member of the Pune Warriors India team that competed in the Indian Premier League in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Because of his outstanding knocks in the group matches throughout the whole tournament in 2014, the Kolkata Knight Riders decided to keep Manish Pandey on their roster for the 2014, 2015, and 2016 seasons of the Indian Premier League.
Throughout the 2018 cricket season, Manish Pandey emerged as one of the highest-paid players in the sport. The Sunrisers Hyderabad paid $1.35 million for him to join their team for the next season. Up till the year 2021, Pandey remained a member of the Sunrisers Hyderabad staff. He is a member of the Karnataka team. In the One-Day International (ODI) match that took place on July 14, 2015, Pandey made his debut for India against Zimbabwe. Kedar Jadhav and he established a partnership that resulted in 144 runs, which contributed to his successful debut. At a time when India was battling to score 82 runs for the loss of four wickets, Pandey joined Jadhav at the crease. He then hit his first half-century before getting out for 71 runs.
On July 17, 2015, he made his debut for India in the Twenty20 International Competition while on the same trip. Pandey’s breakthrough performance on the world stage, on the other hand, occurred in Sydney six months later. India was able to avert a whitewash by preventing Australia from scoring 330 with two balls to spare in January 2016, thanks to his undefeated first one-day international century. In January 2016, he was among the players chosen to be a part of the One-Day International team for the tour of Australia.

In the last game of the series, which took place at the Sydney Cricket Ground, he played an inning that won the match by scoring 104 runs, which contributed to India’s victory in the series. As a substitute for Yuvraj Singh, he was chosen to represent India in the World Twenty20 tournament in 2016. In June of 2017, he was part of the 15-man team that was selected to compete in the Champions Trophy. However, he sustained an injury while playing in the Indian Premier League, and as a result, he was unable to participate in the International Cricket Council tournament for India. In June of 2021, he was considered for inclusion in India’s One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) squads for the series that they were playing against Sri Lanka.
The Indian cricketer Manish Pandey has said that he has not given up on his dreams of making a return for his country. Following his return to the franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, the veteran intends to play for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), which is a team that competes in the league. The Knights ultimately decided to purchase Pandey at his basic price of INR 50 lakhs at the auction that took place in December of 2023.
When India was on tour in Zimbabwe in 2015, Pandey made his first appearance for the national team. On the other hand, he has never been able to establish himself as a member of the national team. At the time of the tour to Sri Lanka in 2021, the batter, who is now 34 years old, had not worn the national shirt since then. Pandey believed that if he had a successful season with the bat for KKR, it would be possible for him to regain his position on the Indian squad by playing again.
For the Kolkata Knight Riders in the year 2024, the hype is all about homecoming. While they are excited to have Gautam Gambhir, their captain who has won two titles, back with them in the capacity of a mentor, they are also excited to have Manish Pandey back with them. Before Sunrisers Hyderabad snatched him away for a staggering INR 11 Crore in the super auction, the middle-order batsman had played for KKR for four seasons between 2014 and 2017. During that time, he was a member of the cricket team.
