Born on October 15, 2001, Bharadwaj Sai Sudharsan is a cricketer who represents India at the international level. He currently plays for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League and Tamil Nadu in the local cricket league. The month of December 2023 marked the beginning of his One-day International (ODI) career with the Indian cricket team, where he played in a series against South Africa.
While Sudharsan’s mother was a volleyball player at the state level, Sudharsan’s father was an athlete who competed for India in the South Asian Games held in Dhaka. In the 2019/20 Raja of Palayampatti Shield, he was the player who scored the most runs for Alwarpet CC, with 635 runs scored at an average of 52.92 innings. On November 4, 2021, he made his debut in the Twenty20 format, playing for Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy during the 2021–22 season.
In the 2021–22 Vijay Hazare Trophy, which took place on December 8, 2021, he made his debut in the List A competition for Tamil Nadu. The Gujarat Titans were the ones who purchased him during the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) competition, which took place in February of that year. The selection of Sudharsan for the Indian Premier League squad was a direct result of his success in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. In April of 2022, he made his debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) shortly after Vijay Shankar was unable to play due to an injury.

Sudharsan posted a total of 362 runs in the Indian Premier League during the 2023 season, with an average of 51.71 runs per game. Even though he hit 96 runs in the Indian Premier League final match against Chennai Super Kings, his club, Gujarat Titans, ended up losing the match. In August 2023, Sudharsan signed a contract with Surrey to play in the remaining three matches of the 2023 year’s County Championship.
Ravindra Jadeja’s heroics in the last over of the Indian Premier League 2023 may be the thing that people remember most about the game, but Sai Sudharsan also had a magnificent knock. The youthful batsman for Gujarat Titans hit 96 runs off of 47 balls, but the ecstasy of Chennai Super Kings’ dramatic victory in the final ball overshadowed the excellence of the innings during which he contributed.
Due to the weather circumstances, the final was played over two days, and CSK prevailed against GT by a score of five runs (using the DLS technique). Having won the toss and chosen to bowl first, the Gujarat Titans scored 214 runs despite the opposition. In 15 overs, Chennai Super Kings were able to achieve a record-tying fifth Indian Premier League title by successfully chasing down a revised target of 171 runs.
GT got off to a strong start as they batted first, with opener Wriddhiman Saha scoring 54 runs off 39 balls and Shubman Gill scoring 39 runs off 20 balls to add 67 runs. On the other hand, it was Sudharsan’s outstanding knock that was mostly responsible for GT surpassing the 210-run milestone. During his innings, the left-handed batter hit eight fours and six sixes, and he came dangerously close to reaching a hundred, which would have been rightfully his.

At the beginning of the next over, he hit Jadeja for a maximum over the deep midwicket boundary. Maheesh Theekshana eventually achieved two more maximums after that. It was a full toss that was smashed over the midwicket boundary and a fuller ball that was slog-swept in the same district. To bring his half-century to a successful conclusion, Sudharsan guided a full toss from Pathirana behind point for four scores. During the seventeenth over, the left-handed batter hit Tushar Deshpande with a six and three fours off successive deliveries. He then launched into him for a six.
In the final of the Indian Premier League 2023, he was coming into the last over of the innings with a requirement of 16 runs to achieve a remarkable hundred. With the first ball from Pathirana, the kid achieved a maximum by launching it over the extra cover. At the long-on position, the subsequent ball was slog-swept and went over the ropes. Sudharsan, on the other hand, was stuck leg before the following ball, which prevented him from reaching three figures by a margin of four runs.
While playing for Gujarat Titans in the opening game of the Indian Premier League 2024 season, Sudharsan also had an outstanding batting performance. In the match against the Mumbai Indians that took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, he made 45 runs off of 39. The hitter, who is 22 years old, hit three fours and a six throughout his innings, which contributed to GT’s 168-6 score. A response by the Mumbai Indians resulted in a score of 162-9, with four bowlers from the Gujarat Titans each taking two wickets.
To maintain the pace, Gill attempted to smash Shahbaz into the stands; however, this was not an easy task. Gill attempted to take on Mayank Markande, but he was unsuccessful since he was unable to get past the fielder. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Sai Sudharsan ensured that the situation remained tight. It took some time for Sai Sudharsan, who had come in as an impact player, to create the relationship. Miller was also a part of the process.
They barely contributed 26 runs between overs 9 and 13, and they did not concern themselves with the run rate at all. It wasn’t until after 15 overs that GT finally placed their foot on the gas. At that point, they needed to score 49 runs in five overs. Before Miller and Sai Sudharsan both hit a six in the same over, Miller struck Markande for consecutive fours of his own. Just like that, the number of balls required dropped from 24 to 25 all of a sudden. Miller and Vijay Shankar were able to keep their calm and bring the Titans home, even though Sai Sudharsan was out for 45 runs from 36.
