Within March in the year 2020, Cricket South Africa presented him with a national contract in preparation for the 2020–21 season. During the Indian Premier League match that took place on March 28, Thursday, Delhi suffered their second consecutive loss. In the second match of the group stage, which took place at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur, DC ended up losing to Rajasthan by a score of 12 runs. Delhi was unable to successfully chase down 186 runs throughout the game as a result of some excellent bowling from the Rajasthan team.
Mr. James Hopes, the bowling coach for Delhi, responded to the question of whether or not it was troubling to lose two games in a row by stating that he was not going to be too harsh on his bowlers. Within the context of the press conference that took place following the completion of the game, the bowling coach for the District of Columbia talked extensively about the star pacer Anrich Nortje. In his return, Nortje seemed to be undercooked, as he yielded 48 runs from his four overs of bowling.
Riyan Parag, a teenage player from Rajasthan, gave RR a battling total to defend with his outstanding 84* off only 45 balls. He attacked Nortje for 25 runs in his last over, which was the final over of his innings. After taking a terrible hammering against Rajasthan Royals in their Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter on Thursday, the bowling coach of the Delhi Capitals, James Hopes, is hopeful that pace spearhead Anrich Nortje will eventually recover and return to his previous level of performance.
