With their headquarters in León, Guanajuato, Mexico, the Bravos de León is a professional baseball club competing in the Mexican League. The Alijadores de Tampico relocated to León in 1979 and changed their name to the Cachorros de León (León Lion Cubs). This marked the beginning of Mexican League baseball in León from that year forward.
